Re: Left 4 Dead: The Survivors
fun mod. i love how the actors's abilities are different from each other. my one problem is that the auto-shotgun is too big and the rifle's barrel is too small. but i still dl'd and love it, dont worry.

Re: Left 4 Dead: The Survivors
Very fun owning AAL with an actor that can only jump.
The weapon sprites are a bit messy but oh well.

Disproportional or oddly shaded.
The actors are fine except that they all have very large foreheads. Might just be me used to having unrealistic CC actors where everyone has tiny heads. I don't know.

Re: Left 4 Dead: The Survivors
Talking about zombie mods, Evil Pony's one is imo the best around here, in terms of playability, not graphics.
If you tweak the codes a little bit, you can get a horde of zombies with amazing agility. Most of the time you're just standing there mowing down zombies but occasionally you get a zombie jumping right onto your face. Very challenging when using keyboard.
I'm going to test this mod with Evil Pony's mod, hopefully it'll be fun.

Re: Left 4 Dead: The Survivors
Sorry for double posting.
After playing, I think the sprites need work, especially the weapons. The sniper really doesn't look right.
In terms of gameplay, the medic pack is really 'for the win', brings you to beyond 100 hp. O ther than that it's good to have a few 'jumping' actors in stock for playing.

To use it, open up L4D.rte/index.ini and take out the slashes at the beginning of the line that says IncludeFile = L4D.rte/Bombs/Pipe Bomb.ini Only take out the slashes though, don't take out the tabs or the mod might not load properly. I know the one pixel thick barrel on the hunting rifle looks off, but if I make it any thicker it looks entirely wrong in comparison to Left 4 Dead or the real gun it's based on. As for the barrel length, why don't you look for yourself? I would say the stock or scope are off, if anything.

Re: Left 4 Dead: The Survivors
what does that even mean? do you want to help? if so, probably not. i'm working on it as a private thing, with roon3 spriting some stuff for me. it'll be out soon enough, for critique. i'd prefer to do it myself though, at least until its at the stage where suggestions can be made. thanks anyway. as for making a pipebomb that attracts, or at least scares enemies, i suppose you could use a simmilar method to darlos on his chaff nade, but just make it an AEmitter and the "smoke" red glows. but you arent working on it anyway, so my musing is going nowhere

Re: Left 4 Dead: The Survivors
i made a mac port with everything enabled link to file http://files.filefront.com/L4Drtezip/;13517249;/fileinfo.htmlAnd i really hope this mod is continued! But i don't think missions are possible because zombies standing next to each other tend to kill each other. and quite frankly the AI is terrible, on the zombie cave mission alone i hade to restart it 5 times because the rocket would kill my brain, and every smrish i play the AI ends up squishing each other...

Re: Left 4 Dead: The Survivors
Thanks, I put the link up on the OP. As for continuation, I might fix up some stuff with what's already been done and finish the bombs, but I'm fairly sure I won't be doing any zombies or missions for this. It's just not productive, putting in a bunch of extra effort to remake something when making something original would likely be easier and more fun.

Bombs: Pipe bomb: Cool tracer, nice sounds, but crappy explosion. Molotov: Awesome tracer, Love the effects, but the fire is like acid it eats through the floor... Guns: All are perfect, but you need a punch attack. Characters: Great, try to add sounds for when they change weapons like in the G-mod mod Zombie: Not really much... Door: I LOVE IT If you give me some bunker bits that mach the left 4 dead setting ill make them! (and try to make it so the zombie CANT duck from fire, it will keep the zombies from crushing each other and such)

as it is you cant edit AI, so we cant prevent actors from ducking bullets.
