   |   Re: X-COM Weapons PackOk, after testing:
the sprites are so clearly re-sizes it isn't funny, they look weird as in game, but worse than that.

This mod is boring. the heavy cannon is another flak cannon, the rocket launcher is conventional and there is nothing interesting about the rifles at all.

Not one part of this mod is bad, it's just mind-bogglingly boring. Nothing new here at ALL.

   |   Re: X-COM Weapons PackThe autocannon and heavy cannon need to shoot shells, and preferably ones in the style in the game (with the trail). Especially cool would be if you could somehow get the awesome explosions into CC as well.

   |   Re: X-COM Weapons PackWell, yeah, X-COM itself was pretty devoid of physics toys. The only weapon that could be potentially interesting to port to CC would be the blaster launcher.

   |   Re: X-COM Weapons PackI see this as more of a treat for people who've played the game. You don't have to please everyone all of the time. It's impossible anyway. If you like where it's going, keep at it.

   |   Re: X-COM Weapons PackThat's the intention, really, just some nostalgic fun. I never knew there was so much hate and elitism in a modding community for an indie game! Oh well, it is the Internet, and Exalion has a Troll avatar anyways, so it's all good. I'll have a bzr repo up now, so you can download new revisions without me having to bother to package them up. Like I've said, if you want to modify anything or make it better, feel free to make patches and I'll probably merge them in. Heliopios wrote: The Heavy Laser feels rather underpowered as it is.I think I've got some variables wrong. It will pulverize an unarmored target, but can't take down a dropship engine in 1-2 hits. I will probably take a look at the Peacemaker bullet (it can take off a dropship engine in a single shot) and see what might be going on to make that such a powerful weapon.

   |   Re: X-COM Weapons PackJust make sure the Heavy Laser doesn't have the kick of a Peacemaker, or any kick for that matter. It'd be weird for lasers to kick, wouldn't it? Also from what I remember, the heavy laser always fired really slow moving bolts compared to the pistols and rifles, or was that because I was playing it on a 486/25 at the time...

   |   Re: X-COM Weapons PackTo fix the laser, you need to make the projectiles be sharper but less heavy. And more of them.'Fleshy' soldiers get shredded by mass easily, whereas tin-men need to be wounded a lot.

 Hope that helps!

   |   Re: X-COM Weapons Packyou are an idiot, aren't you? DID YOU NOT NOTICE THE 5 POSTS ALONG THE LINES OF 'STOP BUMPING THIS THREAD'? Argh, I'm ok with being civil the first time, but that there, gentlemen, is an example of PEOPLE WHO DON'T READ on forums. where are ban-happy mods when you need them
