Who knew that fungi the terraforming kingdom is also the best medicine, and pesticide... well it is effective when you extract it's essence.

Hyperkultra wrote: I also happen to take great pleasure in those kind of backstories DSK2. You should totally make a DSTech robot with a top hat, to serve as one of their aristocrats. Imagine one of those societies as being a ♥♥♥♥ fantasy land, and one of the combat bots decides to wander into there ha ha <saev teh princess! Kill the rabbit!>. I've read Hitchhikers Guide to the Universe, loved it, but its from a different story, I recall reading about it in 4chan (long time ago). WHIRCLUNKWHIRCLUNKWHIR...* And nothing is produced! The population is pretty much slow growing, factory made "young".

Hmm...I thought the DS Tech are purely hunt-and-kill fighting robots, guess I was wrong. Still, with that level of technology, they could be toying with any CC faction with ease.
Oh yea, is the activities still broken?

Oh yea, is the activities still broken? Boring for them! As the <main body> never "attacks" anything. You could say the "active" portion of the DSTech bots are the ones you play as, limited but very powerful tech, think of them as roving pirates. Should I elaborate on the typical hierarchy? Though with that level of tech the ultimate weapon, would be a miniature 8-ball shaped device that does everything you need. Fire a nuke, does that, dig a hole, does that, power spawning babies, does that...
Yes very, possibly even more as I'm currently editing most of my weapons, the really only thing I can do among my school work. I could end up making a spin-off mod that's related to this faction, sort of an actor dump.

The activities file was fixed a few pages back, I posted the fixed one that goes in the root of DSTech and should be uncommented in the Index.ini

The Meteor/Whale gun sounds like the Lazy Gun, from Ian M. Banks' Against A Dark Background. (British Sci-Fi writer) It is a gun made to be crazy powerful, but it has a sense of humour. You aim at the target with the viewfinder, scale it to fill it, and then fire. On a smaller target, like a man, it might spontaneously generate a spear, spear him, then disappear. The effect is random. On larger scales, like aimed on an entire city, it generally loses it's humour, resorting to a nuke or skyfire. When it feels it is threatened, and people might discover what makes it work, it explodes in a nuclear explosion.
Also: If the robots have a conciousness, is it simply stored in the robot, or can they be stored elsewhere? That way, the DS who die in CC aren't really losing anything, and can treat it more as sport/adventure than anything else.

Though when it dies, the AI transfers to a replacement body, it'll be represented as something like a force shot <smaller> being sent upwards.

Depends if they are hooked up to a database ( commonly the internet ) at the time of fragging, or if the entirety of their memory is collected from the remains. Anyways, I'd like to add in my little twist, it'd be like the Darwininian series, after destruction, their conscience floats around like a released spirit, if they were connected to a database at the time, their 'souls' would be sucked into their team's collective ai ( brain ) and then wait to be placed in a body. For those 'souls' that aren't so lucky, a fellow ai has to walk nearby the entities, and they are absorbed. If this were added to the story I would be delighted, but reality, and DSMK2 would have to decide on that! Dammit DSMK2, effing ninja'd... need to type way faster!

For the most part they're gonna be pretty much sent to a mother ship. If there's a base, they're going to the brain unit and sent to the home world / nearest mothership from there, I've always wanted to create a sort of towering long distance communication array. Would be pretty cool if the player playing as DSTech can see the "souls" <shapeless balls of light> jetting off into space, except for the other players. This doesn't apply to the semi-sentiment drones and Tyrants.

This doesn't apply to the semi-sentiment drones and Tyrants. One, what the hell is a tyrant ( in your faction's terms ) , and two, I understand the drones, they are just fragments, one use, guaranteed unsalvageable when killed. Oh, and I just played my copy of Multiwinia, I was some how about to make a humongous dark forest that engulfed a large portion of the field, and felled many souls ( +5000? ) , the end result was a helluva lot of fel spirits, enough to make a thick fog!

That it was something different... oh well... Wait, HOW THE HELL, don't these things have 'souls' , they're so big, they're a ♥♥♥♥ soul collective! Oh, and I'd rather go for demi-tyrants... though they are smaller, at least they can crawl through the default bunker modules!

I believe the lore is that they're dumbed down machines for control purposes. Plus, it sounds like DSTech has an entire society besides their military branch here, it would suck to be "that tall guy" that can't fit into most houses.

The Tyrant seems more like a dinosaur to me. Big enough to step on you and not even notice, but has a brain the size of a shrunken walnut.

It must rely on the system that the Neon Genesis Evangelion universe, shoots and ladders.
