hmm, maybe I could just replace everything about a rocket launcher rocket with fuel rod gun stuff, like the rocket, the propellant, smoke, shrapnel, sparks and all that. Might work well. I don't think I know how to make them bounce though, that most likely will take lua.

Depends how bouncy you want them, and how realistic you want that bouncing to be.

Either way it'll probably require a lot of testing to make sure it looks good and handles/performs properly.

Yup. It just bounces in the few milliseconds before it arms itself.

Btw, Update! Shielded Spartans are here!! Huzaah!!! Fresh with cooler quotes, Jun, harder-to-break weapons, and more! Credit to CaveCricket48 for the cool shielding lua!

Now, to fight some Space Marines...


EDIT: Well, The Black Templars certainly can take 2 rockets and a laser to the chest, but i killed 8 fully equipped Space Marines, two scouts, with flamers, and one Sargent before they got through a blast door, and many other doors, killing my brain.

It was a great fight, but using all the AI workarounds, and tactics i knew, i still couldn't hold them off for more than 5 minutes, maybe a buff to the sheild, and some kind of weapon better suited for cracking (or melting) through ceramite?

If you're playing inside a bunker or something, the shield bar might be covered, but the current version should have shielding unless I fudged up the mediafire link. I really hope not.

EDIT: I just checked, it should be the right version. Do you have a slow computer, cause that might be the problem, occassionally the spartans I buy wont come with shields, but in the same scene, you could buy another one and that one might come with shields, I have no idea why. The coding is definitely right though.

I also checked the overall strength of Space Marines. It took 16-20 shotgun shells in the torso of a blue Ultramarine to kill him, but who has the time or opportunity for that? Explosives might work better :???:

Might be something to look at if your getting "defective" shields. Some of the Spartans I order are lacking the shields as well. It's a pretty annoying bug imo.

CaveCricket and a friend he gave the shielding to said the shields worked completely fine fresh from the .rar file he sent me with the shielding. It didn't work all the time on my computer. I really don't think there is anything wrong with the coding. The .ini stuff is fine, so it would have to be the lua, but I don't think I can find anything wrong. I'll try to see if I can do anything.

To anyone who has this problem, do you have slow-ish computers?

Not really, and I haven't messed with the Delta time either. Also just on the topic of the mod itself. Looks and feels really nice although some of the offsets could use tweaking. the pistol for example. I like all the sprites EXCEPT the pistol. It looks too blocky imo. Also sounds, sounds, sounds. This badly needs halo sounds. One last note is that I would love to see visible inventory for this mod. It would pull it together nicely and give at a Halo and Aesthetically pleasing feel :) That is my 2 cents.

Pretty sure its not something to do with spawning.

Erm, definitely not...

EDIT: I look in the files and I have the shielding folder and it is in Kat's .ini as a attachable, no clue why its not there...

@SnowMonster20 your 2 cents has been noted :) Any other offsets that look weird? I could just go through all of them, i guess. I'll put aesthetics on top of the list, its about time it gets it anyways :P. (idk about the visible inventory... that would take a whole batch of spriting, and lua.)

@unwoundpath Ok thats weird and scary, umm. uhh. dang, not sure whats wrong with yours. Spawning would have been my advice, but I think you thoroughly tested that issue. That usually fixes my problem, I have no idea why its not working for you :oops: :oops: :oops: man this sucks

EDIT: Wait, actually, have you tried deploying them after the game starts? Like having them dropped in with a Rocket or something. Do their shields start charging when you start the game? If the answer is 'no' to either of these, then shielding might have a big issue.

Visible inventory would actually be easier than you think lol. There is a template floating around here somewhere for it and has it boiled down to a "copy and paste" type upgrade. All you would really have to do in terms of coding and spriting is to make some gun sprites at a 90 angle and to edit some variables. More of a polish thing though not really necessary or required.
