Simple Cortex Command Mod Manager V1.0
Simple Cortex Command Mod Manager

Simple Cortex Command Mod Manager (SCCMM) is just that; a simple mod manager.

Features:
- Easy enabling and disabling of mods
- Saving and loading of presets (so you can have one for vanilla campaigns, one for OP fun, one for Skirmishes, etc.)

Disclaimer: I am a self-taught amateur programmer, and as such, my code might be is probably crap and stuff might not work as expected.

If you find any bugs, encounter any crashes, or have any feature requests; please post them. Feedback is appreciated!

Known bugs:
Map Pack 3 - The game does not start if "Maps - Objects" is enabled (Cortex Command starts with Map Pack 3 if it is "disabled"). This is due to it not having .rte in the name, and that it hooks right into base.rte. A fix for this is coming in the next version, once I have more changes in it.

Good job, there used to be a mod manager back in B23 or something, but it got discontinued. Will make managing mods faster, great!

I found a mod manager that does the same thing. There's a link to it in the Map Pack 3 thread. It's in the first post.

@Someone64: Huh, didn't know about that one. Wonder how it starts the .exe, every time I try to start it with code it just says it can't load settings.ini. Oh well, mine has presets

Awesome!

I have a simple request though: Could you add a button to start Cortex Command?
One shortcut to start them all sort of thing!

This is already on my TODO list. I've tried to do it already, but CC just gives me error messages. I'll keep trying to figure it out!

Oh, this is just the thing i have wanted for a very long time. Especially since im the person who downloads all the mods he can. This makes things SO MUCH EASIER! plus, less loading of the game in the beginning, and no messy jobs of moving mods to another folder to store them for when i want to use them, later. :-o

 I seem to be having a problem.

When I go to run the application, I get an error saying that it is installed from another location. I have tried to fix this, but to no avail.

In the spoiler is a minor wall of text detailing my attempts, if this helps you help me.

I you can fix this, you will my life in CC oh so much easier.

I thank you in advance.

@DracusDakkrius": Remove all the files you found, then reinstall the program. Make sure you extract the archive before you install, or it will have problems running.
It seems like due to it not having all the files availible (as you didn't extract all the files before installing), just part of the program exists in a winrar/7zip/something temporary folder, and the rest is still in the archive. Give me a word if it still does not work.

I've deleted the folder that I believe the error message refereed to as where it was supposedly installed. I extracted the archive this time and ran the setup. I still got the same error.

Alright, make sure you are uninstalling through add/remove programs, and then search your registry for anything related to "cortex command mod manager", and delete them. Then re-download the archive (to make sure it's not corrupted or anything), and extract the entire thing to your desktop. Reinstall from there, and give me a word if it still won't work (I can't reproduce the problem at my machine, so I can't test these myself).

Jesus man... from the perspective of someone with next to zero knowledge of lua, C++, Java, or any other coding language for that matter, this is rather impressive. It works like a charm on my rig, I really enjoy not having to have multiple folders to store mods I only use occasional. Seeing as how the legendary modders, such as Weegee, who is busy with his son, and Numgun, who had a pissy fit and left because he thought the community was going down the shitter, its nice to see some legit code coming out from the forums. Very few baffling mods come from here anymore, albeit some pretty awesome ones, but not things as solid and impressive as something like... hell, all of Numguns factions, or all the "winnable" Weegee missions (The balls through nails hard ones were just challenging).

I would love to see you on the request board handling those code-retarded pleaders helping them out with code for the neat ass sprites they make. Honestly I like your code, and the actual product looks really ♥♥♥♥ sexy, and makes me think that a 2 year old could figure it out.

TL;DR,

♥♥♥♥ awesome, you should help out the request board.

[Edit] Ooooh I've a sinking feeling I necroed this ♥♥♥♥♥.
