Re: Saving System V0.1
Just loaded a Tutorial Bunker save from inside Tutorial Bunker, still creates clones for some reason. MY GOD! They're multiplying!

Re: Saving System V0.1
That's wierd, everything is supposed to get wiped out befor the new actors are placed to prevent this problem. And I don't have it on my computer, do other people have this too?
edit: Oh and on your image the game didn't load properly at all, otherwise concrete, metal and stone would look wierd. Very strange indeed. Have you tried it on other maps?
edit-2: Any lua errors?

Re: Saving System V0.1.1
Well it appears I forgot to comment out line 512 when testing area functions. As a result V0.1 is bugged, please download V0.1.1.

Re: Saving System V0.1.1
Looks to me that the drop area gets changed, or isn't changed from the activity/map you played on when you loaded the save. I made a save on Tutorial Bunker, restarted, loaded Control Chip Hunt, and loaded the save. The drop area is on the far left, leaving 4 or 5 meters to spawn in. Thankfully, nothing multiplied, and the metal and concrete muxed up, just as planned.
I am happy to see the resident genius working on something everyone has been asking for, either aloud or deep inside.

Re: Saving System V0.1.1
This looks really promising. I look forward to when this reliably works for both Windows and Mac, if that is achievable.

Mehman wrote: Folks wrote: Sounds really cool! Will a mac version be possible? That would be great. This uses a .exe so i'll have to recompile it int a mac equivalent. It also uses dos commands, does mac have an equivalent system(command prompt)? Macs do have a terminal like other Unix systems, which performs the same basic job as command prompt. I expect you would have to use Unix commands instead of dos commands though. I'm afraid I haven't done much with either, so I'm not sure I can help much beyond that.

Re: Saving System V0.2
I just updated this:
The terrain bitmaps are now cleaner: no more white stripe at the warp limit and on the top of the map. The landing zones are now properly loaded. Now this works very well with skirmish activities, still most missions will be instantly won on loading. Once this is in a more advanced stage I'll try making mac and linux versions, but for now I'll focus on making it more useable. Old saves may be compatible, or not.

Re: Saving System V0.2
I saved a game of Wrestling Defense, a custom gamemode, called '1.' I restarted, loaded '1,' played a while, and saved '2.' I restarted, loaded '1,' played a while, loaded '2,' and the concrete/metal was missing from the Brain Bunker from Tutorial Tiles which was my base. The doors were still there, though, but that's unimportant.
There was no white line, or anything truly out of the ordinary. Except the lack of matter involving my bunker.

Re: Saving System V0.2
To make concrete/metal look somewhat better, you could have your terrain placement randomly roll through a few different concrete colors. Then you'll get a concrete-sprayer type look, rather than outright ugliness.

That would work if I made the terrain out of MOPixels and stuff like this, but I'm not, I'm loading it from a material bitmap generated when you save your game, it saves only materials, not colors, colors are restored by the game itself using terrain textures, and concrete and metal don't have textures. Roast Veg wrote: Here, I made you a nicer texture. Thanks, I'll include it. Edit: done.
