Select Fire V1.3: G3, MP5, SCAR à la L4D2
Correct me if I'm wrong, but select fire seems to have not been done well yet, so that's why these otherwise unspectacular guns are kinda special. Sorry for the awful image quality, I lazily wanted just one gif to deal with, and there were filesize limitations. Shadow Echelon Operator not included. There's a HK G3 Battle Rifle, a HK MP5-SD Submachine Gun, and a FN SCAR-L Assault Rifle. The G3 and MP5 both have conventional 4-position firing modes, (safe/semi/burst/auto) while the SCAR has special delay modes. These modes can be selected by changing the AI mode of the actor operating the weapon. Patrol AI Mode: Fully Automatic Gold Dig Mode: 3 Round Burst (Auto Bursts for the SCAR) Sentry (or any other) Mode: Semi-Automatic (Delayed Automatic for the SCAR) Actually incorporating the safety would have been silly. In fully automatic mode, recoil can accumulate and un-align your sharp aiming. This can also happen when you fire subsequent bursts immediately. In semi-automatic or delayed automatic, your firing rate is drastically reduced, so you don't have to worry about recoil. Known issues: -Above the screen, the script fails to find the actor, and it doesn't fire automatically/bursts. Not a big deal. -Uses AI modes to select a firing mode, which can be an annoyance. -In burst fire, the "cam doesn't reset", so it's acting like a M16A2 trigger cam mechanism, instead of emulating a HK trigger cam design. Credits: Some bits of script and the recoiling method were taken from Abdul Alhazred's recoil demo. The sounds are taken from the 2009 Valve game Left 4 Dead 2The MP5SD firing sounds are taken from this video of Spanish GEO officers firing one.The module icon is from a hkparts.net imageThe MP5 and MP5 magazine sprites are from the sprite dump, made by p3lb0xFeel free to use these scripts for stuff, crediting accordingly would be swell. PM me if you need some help adapting the script to your application.

Re: Select Fire HK G3 Battle Rifle
This is really cool, and recoil would be awesome. The only thing I might change would be possibly having golddig or whatever cycle through the modes, so you can still use patrol and such while keeping on a specific mode.

Re: Select Fire HK G3 Battle Rifle
Yeah, good idea, Pete, but then I'd need to fiddle with a manager particle and/or or a global list, or something like that. I guess I'll need that anyways for a Lua recoil system, so maybe I'll switch the selecting method over to that after I get a Lua recoil system incorporated.
Thanks for the comment, Cmdr 5ir. What's kinda funny about that is that the method of switching modes that would cause quick reloading would be more complex and difficult to manage than what I'm doing.
I have a RecoilDemo.rte installed, which I was going to partially use for the recoil, but I can't seem to find it on the forum, so I'm not sure who made it. It had a SMG and a Rifle. Anyone know? [see below]

Re: Select Fire HK G3 Battle Rifle
Thanks. I had a suspicion that it was Abdul's, and I searched accordingly, so it's kinda odd that I didn't find it. Oh well.

Nobody has done a good MP5 to my knowledge, that would be NICE.

Anyone know? Wait a second, i remember that in the minor mod dump! Give me a sec to find it. EDIT: Nevermind, I didn't see the post above. Nice! Liking the new MP5, perfect for my stealth ta-ly-ard

Re: Select Fire V1.3: G3, MP5, SCAR
Update: Recoil, thanks to Abdul. SCAR, with auto-burst fire à la L4D2! And semisemiauto kinda like HL2's pistol, where it fires again if you hold the trigger until after the recoil from the last shot is over, except there isn't an option to click sooner and fire with that recoil... Not sure how I'd do that...SCARs don't actually have fancy electronic delay select fire, but neither does anything else real, and a completely fictional gun would seem a bit out of place in the mod. And it made things a little easier since I could emulate L4D2's Combat Rifle to get started.Poor mans sniper wrote: stealth ta-ly-ard Uhh, what? I goofed up and still had the SE Operator perk in there, when that was supposed to be the stats for everyone. Fixed in V1.32 Also, a slight SCAR buff, for range and penetration.

A good handgun would make this pack even better.
