Medical Brigade
This is my take on LFoW's original nurses. Being my first modding project, I decided to do it since, in theory, it was simple. This is due to my lack of skill spriting, and also to get familiar with .ini scripting before actually doing a whole script. I must say, it was a bit of a challenge at first but I managed to get the hang of it quickly enough. The sprites used are originally from the Unitec mod (torso, hands, heads, almost every body part.) and from the Nurses mod (heads, Coalition Nurse's arms). The use of Azukki's Cauterizer is also present with 0 modifications to it so as to not hamper its performance (I.E. Me screwing something up in the code.). So, unto the mod itself. The Medical Brigade, a group of human females who, appalled by the continuous resource wars in the worlds of the outer rims, set forth to found their own faction. However, said faction wasn't interested in either the gold or the sadistic killing that was to be found aplenty on the battlefield, but was rather focused on saving as many lives as possible. Due to this, it wasn't unusual for them to find themselves in opposite sides of a battle and, due to their pacifistic behavior, along with the fact that their only protection was their helmet (I.E. They are really vulnerable, though pretty agile as well.), would usually find each other in the same hiding spot, updating each other on their situations, and then head back to their respective lines to heal their wounded. The organization's members themselves are divided into two groups. COMBAT NURSES: Although their name may suggest they are directly involved in combat, this just isn't the case. Instead, they are the ones who either stay at the base or behind the front, tending to those who are in absolutely no physical condition to fight. Due to their line of work, it is not unusual for them to be seen carrying the Bonesaw around, already knowing what most of their work will involve.(In the picture, the ones on the top.) COMBAT MEDIC: As opposed to the nurses, the combat medics are out there with the soldiers, using their Cauterizers to quickly heal them. However, they do not carry a weapon, yet due carry a Bonesaw with them for battlefield amputations. Due to the very nature of war though, the combat medics have been known to break their oaths of never hurting anyone, resorting to using the Bonesaws as deadly melee weapons to save their own lives, even going up to the point of taking the weapon of a soldier they were unable to save and using it. (In the picture, the ones at the bottom.) Bugs: - All eight characters possess the same ability as the nurses in LFoW's mod. However, for some reason this ability doesn't always work. One of them might get close to a wounded character and heal it completely, but should another one do the same thing nothing happens. I've yet to figure out why this happens, specally since the code for all of them is practically the same. I'll try to fix it but if anyone wants to help, it'll be appreciated. - The Cauterizer barely works. Most of the time, it will fire but won't heal any hurt actors, randomly working from time to time. I've yet to figure out why. Quite possibly, I'll end up just getting rid of it and giving the Combat Medics an actual gun or something. Again, if anyone can help with this I'll be really thankful. Credits: - LFoW for the original mod. The Combat Nurses use the heads of his nurses, keeping the original names and descriptions, except for the Coalition nurse who now has a real name and its own description. Also, the Bonesaw. - Gotcha, since a great number of the sprites used were from his Unitec mod, along with the Jetpack effects and a few of his custom wounds. Death and pain sounds from Unitec were also used. - Azukki for the Cauterizer mod which, as previously stated, was included in this mod for the Combat Medics. - Rodgun for editing the scripts.

Re: Medical Brigade
Wouldn't this be more fitting for minor mod dump, seeing as you didn't really make anything of this?

Re: Medical Brigade
Yes I know that already, but if you get feedback on something you didn't really make, how can you improve it if you aren't really any better than the original creators?
I'd say you make something yourself, like a simple faction or something.

Because like all modders he has to start small and work his way up? Next he can try making his own sprites, or his own weapons, etc. With this he can at least see how people react to this or that presentation or functionality.

Re: Medical Brigade
All right you win.
The presentation you got there is awesome, describes the units what they do and such, not much more is really needed with the current content you have here. The legs of the regular nurses look a bit off, so does the blue shoes. Some of the sprites, like the jetpack ones, clash with the rest, making it have less "flow".

I think that with the legs, the problem is that I used a sprite meant for armored legs rather then unarmored, pants-only ones. I think that will be my first actual spriting then. As for the shoes, you know how some medics use those plastic covers for their shoes? However, in restrospective, it probably doesn't fit very well with the whole "battlefield+bombed base" where germs on your shoes are the least of your worries. Duh102 wrote: Next he can try making his own sprites, or his own weapons, etc. For both spriting and scripting, I'll keep expanding on this one somewhat. Change the sprites to my own as I get the skill to make them, and attempt to make both groups different from each other in some ways. Due to the in-character-ness of this mod, my first weapons will have to be accompanied with their own small faction, unless I manage to make my own medigun-like weapon. Which I doubt, so faction making it is.

@Lizard and Duh. I think it's ok to start small but that doesn't mean you can't start alright. Like for my first mod (coincidentally a collab with LFOW) I did the base sprites which Lowee edited off of.
Good mod, but it definitely needs a lot of reworking.
Edit: If no one got the hint the mod I was talking about was the medic mod.

Re: Medical Brigade
Generally speaking it's modder common courtesy to request permission for using other people's mods in any kind of update, rework or repackaging (in this case).
You should have asked Contrary and myself before releasing this, as well as Azukki and Gotcha.
While I respect you being a new modder and starting small, I still think a couple PMs wouldn't have hurt, seeing as there's nothing really wrong with the original mod other than maybe it hasn't been updated in ages.

I'm sorry, I had not realized this. I'll make sure not to forget whenever I plan to use another mod's content. Sorry about it.

Woah... make the things right always take more time, but I'm agreed, you should respect others work. Productive criticism: why don't you add something new? Surgery drones if they are close to a friendly actor they heal them but if they're close to some enemy they begin bizarre surgeries, like change enemy's head for crabs, steal they limbs or drain out their blood, it would require proportional amounts of job and knowledge. Some kind of vortex opener where all the experiments and deform mutations go out, some of them pacific some of them not, it would be fun ^..^
