1. Downloads. I suggest (this is rather hard) that the IP address would only count once, so no-matter how many times the person downloads it, that person's download only counts once. 2. Wiki Spam. I suggest you have (like trusted) special members that can change the Wiki, everyone else has to have a moderator check it first to make sure it is not spam, any contributions less than 50 or so words are left and not changed. Just suggestions, don't take any notice if they are not possible, or stupid. *spams download* |

Why do you care about the download spam? |

Download spam is a non-issue, really. If there were issues with people getting hundreds of thousands of downloads, maybe something would be done, but as it is, I truly doubt weasel is going to spend the time needed to get something like that working. For the wiki, we have modules in place that prevent spam right now. Any spam you do find on it is likely from before we had spam prevention, and will be cleaned up soon. The wiki is rarely contributed to as is, and it's even less likely that somebody would want to watch over every edit made to the wiki so it can be approved or disapprove it. As well, most of the pages don't have that many characters on them. If contributions of less than 50 characters were discounted, most changes would never go through. |
