Post Stickying topics.
I think there are many topics we need to have restickied, but one I really believe that needs restickying is mod templates.

Just thought I'd put that out there, and feel free to share any input on other topics that should be stickied or whatever.

I agree also. Some of the dumps have drifted down and that's not right.

They were unstuck so that we wouldn't clutter up the topic listing. All are linked in this topic. If you find any more that you think should be linked as well give any mod/admin a holler.

If a topic is still valid and interesting, it will be posted in in order to keep it near the top of the heap. If you're going to post a picture of yourself, chances are it will be after you see the thread, not just on a whim. If anyone does make a new topic to grasp for attention in, the mods can just put it into the PYOP thread.

There's really no reason, at all, for it to be stickied.

Yea. Uh. Sure. Then link dump should be unstickied. Either way I didn't notice seraph's thread til now so I'm fine anyways.

The link dump is stickied because there's a significantly greater risk of people making topics to go 'hurr lookit this link the internet gave me'

Even with the topic stickied, this happens fairly often. General Chat is a forum that doesn't have to exist; as such, any time moderators have to devote to it is taking time from the rest of the forum, and our real jobs.

It's a timesaving maneuver, nothing more. But also, having lots of stickies is ugly.

Perhaps if the stickies were separated from the rest of the threads in an orderly fashion such as on this site it wouldn't matter how many stickies we had cause it wouldn't be so cluttered.

Yea I see what you're saying, Grif. But like I said, I really don't have all that much of a preference anymore since I saw Seraph's topic.

Post Re: Stickying topics.
My current goal is for there to be no more than 2 stickies in any given forum.

I'd like to someday figure out a system that requires no stickies at all; so that's my eventual aim: ZERO STICKIES.

Less is better.

I think putting one "megasticky" thread that links to other threads is probably the best bet at this point.
