See the point of a filesize limit on avatars is to cut down on page loading times. If a workaround to that stops working, it's not something you complain about.
I thought the point was to save on server bandwidth, considering the number of times avatars are loaded.
A 400 KB avatar, which is a bit over
half of what mine currently is (on an external server, = 0 MB of bandwidth) if it were on this server:
400 KB avatar x my 500 posts = 195 MB of bandwidth
And our current limit?
40 KB avatar x my 500 posts = 19.5 MB of bandwidth
Which is why I thought large ones used to be okay if on an external server.
