How DOES the "no necroing" rule work, anyway?
And where can I find it? Apparently, judging by the response to my first-ever post, and some discussion in Lord Tim's Good Mods topic, there's some kind of rule against posting in old topics. However, I can't find it. What are the exact rules about this and where are they written? I'm looking right at the Forum Rules topic in another window and there's NOTHING about how long a topic can go unanswered before you're not supposed to post in it anymore.
I don't see the sense in this. I've NEVER seen any other forum that had five hundred topics, but according to the unwritten rule you can only post in ten of them. I mean, God forbid I take a week's break from the computer to go camping or something, and then I get back and I see a mod I want to comment on, but it's been six days since anybody posted in its topic.

It is pretty much a judgement of the mod who looks at it. Theres bring back the dead just for fun, that we dont allow. But if you are posting in a thread thats ages old, and you got a good reason. Like a good question. Thats fine.

If it's months old and you want to say "Is soooo gewd :3" That's bad.
If the DL link is broken, PM the topic creator.
But if the mod is broken to you, that's fine.
A question to the OP is to be PMed though.

More of a community mindset than a rule, TBH. I don't like it.
People need to learn to just ignore the occasional necro'd topic and let it settle instead of filling it with posts saying how bad it is to necro.
But yeah, it's pretty much what X said.

*people need to learn to report
I mean seriously.
I think the icon should be made full text and a black and white strobing animated GIF.

It would give some people seizures. Maybe it should just be long. There's too much free space at the bottom.

I like that too but I got a seizure-less idea -- VVV -- _______________________________________________ How about it rolls, like in a slot machine manner.

It glows its the contrasting color.

Re: How DOES the "no necroing" rule work, anyway?
The sane suggestion, since it fits into the site style. Larger, from improved legibility and to make it easier to see. Nicely flashing for improved visiblity.

That last flashing one Grif, that's amazing. Except for those little white things on the corners. :/

Can't be more than once a second by the way. That triggers seizures and damn I bet Data loves being sued.

I think that there are plenty of avatars/signatures that flash more than that.
