I mean really why do you even have FTP if you're not going to do anything?

can we fix this i love editing wikis and this is a great way to learn. is there an administrator for the wiki that can just wipe it.

What we need is permission for only certain members to edit it.

it's not so much an inability to fix it it's more weasel is a tool and just won't fix it

I agree partially in that he should be working on it now, but we're talking about when he fixes it what mesures should be put in place to prevent it.

Daman got him a plug-in who knows how many months ago that would pretty handily prevent a lot of ♥♥♥♥. Really all he has to do is give someone who can handle it wiki admin.

We've already got wiki admins. The issue is, admins can't do anything but revert the spam and block IPs(users can revert the spam anyways and I've seen NOBODY trying to).

I've got sysop and beauraucrat, but what I don't have, and what is essential to implementing either a honeypot-based spambot ban or simple anti-spam rule system is FTP.

Abusefilter is up and working. Blocked its first linkspammer today. I'll give the ability to modify unrestricted filters to trusted users if they register and prove they're helping out.

I also recommend you REGISTER when editing the wiki, as most anti-spambot filters do not apply to you in that case.
