I think we would be fine with having the topics the way they are presented now, but make the main subforum look like Grif's mockup in the OP.

Post Re: moddb integration
Data's officially given the go-ahead on this project. A few conditions though:

- It has to be easily undo-able in case it doesn't work out (obv.)
- It can't suck up too many server resources (shouldn't be a problem)
- It has to be primarily user-run.

I'll be happy to help out (I am a programmer and know php/mysql inside out), and I'll still be in charge of the general overall decisions on content and such, but there'll have to be someone 'in charge' to take care of it and will act responsibly, give out moderation priveleges (if applicable), etc.

tl;dr: I don't want yet another thing to babysit. :)

Now taking applications to be on the design team.

What is needed:
Web developers. Need people who can make things look good.
DBAs. I plan on being the lead DBA but some help would be nice.
Beta testers. DO NOT POST ASKING TO BE A BETA TESTER RIGHT NOW. We don't need them now, just down the road.

Also, try to be familiar with how a CMS works. Probably set up a Subversion for this or something, I am not sure yet.

Web designers, please be prepared to send me a portfolio or some screenshots of actual sites you have developed (existing or defunct). Screenshots are okay but they must be of actual web pages, not photoshop mockups

Upon reading the requirement for a portfolio, I'm dead in the water for visual development. I'm offering my services anyway, But obviously I'm going to be a pretty limited asset for the next 3 weeks at least.

Exited for this to happen though.
