I think that there are plenty of avatars/signatures that flash more than that.

Well then they should be removed. Should be stated in the rules.

Last image just doesn't have custom transparency.

It was a two second .gif that I asked cambiogris to make.

A forum version would have transparency, obviously.

Foa: It already does flash in the inverse colors, just only part of the image flashes. Which gets even better contrast.

The flashing on that image also works better; it can be made to happen less often but still be noticable.

Of course most people will just adblock it, but, hey.

Got bored.

Eight images with varying time delays, 4 apiece from the wide and narrow images I posted earlier.

First frame delays are 100, 150, and 200 centiseconds. Second frame is from 15 to 20.

They should all be properly transparent and quite ready for insertion into a webpage as well.

Cough.

Cough.

EDIT: Scratch that on the transparency, not sure what happened.

Also yes, I realize I double posted. Whatcha gonna do about it.

Transparency test:

Ah, there we go. Okay, just gotta be more careful next time.

Pick an image and I'll upload it properly transparent.

Does it really have to flash?

I mean, we want people to notice it, but people might overuse a giant distracting flashing button.

How about this?

It's noticeable without drawing too much attention and give a sense of warning.

It's been changed, by the way.

It looks a bit off to me, the spacing is way off, but if you can come up with better, let James know.

Flashiness is also a negative.

And so after all of this discussion and ideas they just stretched it a little bit?

Edit: Nevermind, they changed it to the one that says R E P O R T

I thought the change was good, noticeable and is clearer.

So I suppose it's all thanks to grif. Happy now? EDIT: (not mean-ness, I realize it sounded mean when I looked back on it)
