We keep being asked to use the report system to report things such as, pointless thread necros, obscene flaming and just plain unintelligible garbage. It strikes me however that the system for reporting is not best suited to the task.

It's dropdown menu has some of the least used examples of broken rules. I find that almost every time I report a post I use the "other" option. In order to increase the number of people who report, make it easier by having the dropdown menu include such things as "Blatant Flaming", "Unreadable Post" and "Useless Spamming".

Give me a few ideas and il put them into the warning system

• Spam
• Flame
• Necro
• Wrong Topic
• Off-topic

Note: the last two are not the same. Wrong topic = a mod request didn't get put in the request thread. Off-topic = well, off-topic.

I'd like to add "Unintelligible Post", for those posts that lack grammar to the extent where no-one can read it.

Or you could just use the text field to type what exactly the problem is and select "Other."

That's the thing, not everything should fall in the category of other, we should have presets so we don't have to type it every time.

Actually, I think you should have to type every time. If you're going to report a post, you need to justify why it needs to be removed.

If you genuinely have a problem with something, you need to make a point of explaining to the staff why its a bad contribution.

No. The moderators aren't idiots and we shouldn't have to explain to them what's wrong with the post.

Dont bother with this. Just type "Spam, troll, flaming" or whatever in the text box.

I know for a fact none of the staff members on any board even bother looking at the tag. Just type a brief description.

I think this has ran its course, iv added some new things for when you report.
