Okay, I am going to resuggest this again in light of some things that have come to my attention. 1) We should retry using MediaWiki to create a comprehensive manual. 2) We are going to only embark upon specific projects related to Cortex Command. We will save articles about Actors and Weapons for the very last. So, here I am going to everyone to contribute a suggestions about an important piece of [i]playing or modifying[i] Cortex Command that everyone can reference. I'll start. a) Comprehensive explanation of variables; An item-by-item list of variables by unit type (Actor, Craft, Weapon, Bomb, Shield, etc). Anyone else? |

Make a tool that lets you find where the coords are on the sprite. |

Pyro, you can do that in paint. Just open the sprite up and move your mouse to coordinate. Look in bottom right corner and it shows the exact coordinates for CC code. I use it all the time. EDIT: No one will take you seriously with a sig like that. It shows that you aren't even motivated enough to stay alive, let alone handle and update a wiki. |

Because there are too many questions that have been answered a hundred million times, but there are also a bunch of questions with answers that some people may or may not know where the answer is. It would also be helpful to have a central location that people can point to and say "read this" and provide a link. Anyways, I would like to know exactly why you're always suck a Negative Nancy |

The variables list would be hugely helpful to modders and the like. It could have all the tutorials with nice easy links to everything as opposed to the forum, where you have to search for waht you want. Plus, everyone else has one. |

Y'know what, here's the deal. I'm tired of the negativity of this goddamn board. If you want to help me with this, PM me and we'll work on this on a closed wiki. |

I would help if I knew more about Cortex Command. Personally, I think this could be a good moder's resource. |

I agree. A place where all information that a person needs to create their own mods would be useful. It would mean less questions would need to be asked and when they were, the information could be added to the wiki so that it would be available the next time. It would prevent things from needing to be explained so many times. It would also mean that the forum wouldn't need so many stickys explaining things about modding; instead there could just be one sticky in each section that would link to the wiki pages on each modding topic. Also, with a wiki, we could finally have some level of cataloging and organization when it comes to mods. The wiki could contain lists with links to mods and such listed and organized. The most popular and spectacular of mods could have their own special list(s) and wiki pages. That way the advertisements and comments/requests concerning each mod could also be recorded for those people like me (do any exist?) that like reading them. It's sort of like this; Do we absolutely need it? No. Could it be potentially useful if given a chance? Defiitely. Here's what I say; go ahead and make it. Set up a pretty good basic structure for the wiki that can be built upon. The people who don't like the idea can just continue to do what they want. Over time, if the CCwiki is found to be useful, more people will use it until it becomes another part of the CC community. I do think you ought to change your sig though, simply so other people will take you more seriously. People tend to assume your personality from your sig. Also, your sig says you left the forum, so it's natural to not expect you to do much, even if it is just a joke. I think the wiki is a good idea. Besides, it's free and rather easy as far as I know, so why not? I don't know why people seem against this. |

Wouldn't it just be easier to just make a topic explaining just about everything in the game, and sticky it? |

I guess the irony of the fact that you are a new user and such a thread exists is lost on you. The point of this is not just to have a compendium of solutions and help, but an easy resource for people to point to. Again, if you arent going to offer suggestions or offer help, dont post in this thread. |

I personally think it's a good idea, as no new members really pay attention to help stuff, and the current stuff is rather disorganised. |

Okay well if anyone is willing to help me, PM me. I think the first project we should start on is creating a list of variables and the function of each one. |
