   |   Fraps + Cortex Command == ?!?!?!?Hey,
I want to record Cortex Command and have a copy of fraps. I'm confused because some youtube vids say they used fraps but fraps doesn't recognize Cortex Command as a game (no fps counter, no video file made). I can't use CamStudio as it's got audio-recording problems, hypercam has a watermark (eek) and is slow, gamecam is slow. How do you get fraps to record CC?
Also, is there a program that uses directX/openGL and can dock windows? For example, there's Jedi Window Dock (http://www.anappaday.com/downloads/2006 ... -dock.html ) that can dock windows but does not use directX and thus doesn't work with fraps.
Or is there a simple way to make fraps record non-3d-directx programs that I'm just missing?

   | If you run CC in 640x480 without sound, even though there's no FPS counter, the video capture will still work. You'll notice it when your FPS drops, heh.

   | mine worked fine by just disabling the counter and setting it to record at 25 fps... No sound disable neccesary.
And FRAPS does record from CC. I used it myself.

   | Not sure why it's not working for me then... btw, I use Vista.
Anyway, these are my fraps settings:
 -FPS Disabled
 -Video Capture Hotkey: F9
 -Half size
 -25 fps
 -Record Sound: yes
-Sound Source: Detect best sound input

My fraps version is 2.8.2, build 6489. When I press F9 in Cortex Command, I don't get any frame drop. After pressing F9 again (usually stops video recording) no video file is made.

   | maybe because you are using vista( don't know maybe) and did you set the folder where the video is saved?

   | Yes. It's c:\users\MYNAME\Desktop\Downloads\FrapsMovies.

   | I use Full-size. That *may* be the problem.
or it could be that it's not getting rights to the folder... Try setting it to the Fraps installation folder instead.

   | Wow, can't believe I didn't try that. Well, anyway, fullscreen fixed it. Amazingly, I just needed to run CC in fullscreen and fraps then recorded it.
 Thanks!

   | FULL SCREEN IS REQUIRED!
Fraps only takes caps from a full-screen app. The only exception I know is itunes. Fraps will try to record Cover View as a video, if you ask it to.

   |   Re: Fraps + Cortex Command == ?!?!?!?Hah that why i contacted data about it you MUST turn off TrueColorMode in settings.ini... BUT the one and the most sad thing is you WILL lose the glow effect... so i think we should wait for a new CC build to fix this annoying bug, BUT it wont hesitate ME from recording Fraps videos EDIT: the problem isn't Vista
