If you're playing the campaign the basic gist is this: There are zones on the map that correspond to battle/base building locations. You either attack or defend on these sites. You assign resources to either attack or defend and this controls how much gold is available for buying units and building your base during your turn. You control what you attack and where you build and how much gold you assign to the sites during your turn by clicking on the site and assigning gold via a slider. If it's a new site you can also scan it (highly recommended!). When you go to the attack phase a brain bot and an AA bot will land. From there you need to call in units and dig for gold so you can call in even more units - the tutorial should help with how to call units, dig and fight. You design your base by dropping actors and base modules onto the map which will get built over time as funds allow. When it's the enemy's turn, and you get attacked, they will also drop a brain bot and an AA bot to start, followed by other forces. I suggest you play some skirmish games to get the feel for base building and calling in units and how to defend before tacking the campaign. |

The best tip of them all to get good at playing is tankmayvin wrote: play some skirmish games to get the feel for base building and calling in units and how to defend before tacking the campaign. Because, before we had the campaign, we would play skirmishes all day everyday, and at times some modded missions to try new stuff.Endless Skirmish is your friend; play there as much as you can until you get the hang of Cortex Command physics. Then play a small campaign to get the feel of how campaign works. EDIT: Also, Didn't watch it, but it was featured in the Dev Log so I guess it's good. |
