Post question about digging for gold
I just bought this game through steam, and for the last hour I have had a lot of fun with it. Though, I just ran in to a problem that made me rage quit the campaign I had going.... idk what I am doing wrong, or if it is a bug that I should post in the bug reports thread? I was trying to use the digger to harvest gold from underground... and I was doing it fine for the first 2 or 3 rounds I played against the AI - but this most recent one I would attempt to dig out some gold, only to have my unit explode almost immediately??? I lost 5 units which depleted all remaining funds and ended up losing the battle. Is there a certain technique to digging to prevent this from happening, and is it even possible to injure myself with the digger?? I don't know what's happening and if any of you could help, I would be extremely grateful :)

You probably hit the infamous map seam bug. At the point where the map warps around, units can be quite... explode-y when walking on solid surfaces.

I've noticed this as well. I think it's a physics bug that the game thinks the character has been squished or something... same with what sometimes happens when walking down stairs. The key is to remember where it last happened and then avoid that spot or make sure to overmine that spot so that there are no particles of dirt, dead bodies, etc there to make the game think you should be squished. This is how I've solved this bug.
