Post I've looked and looked...
.. and have yet to find an answer.

First, Hi. I'm new here. Did not know this game existed until it came out on steam unfortunately. Wish I would've found it sooner. Second, my first of probably many questions to come in the future - How do I play my custom scene in Scenario mode? It's quite simple.. I edited the desert and built a basic bunker to avoid having to do it every single time I play. I've tried all of the game modes and can't seem to play it unless I overwrite the original map.

What gives? Thanks.

I don't know if this is the standard way of doing it, but it works.

After you save your map, go to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Cortex Command\Base.rte\Scenes

Then, open the file that is named after your map in notepad:

Add x and y values under the location (something reasonable)

After that, it should show up on the map.

Some tips:

1. Make sure the Areas (zone boxes) match an activity. CC decides which gamemodes your map shows up on based on the name of the Areas in your maps, so you want to makes sure they match the ones in Skirmish Defense maps if you want to play that in them.

2. The coordinates on the map are a bit weird, 0,0 is the middle of the world, if you want to move it left, you need a negative first number, and so on.

3. If you want to keep your map out of the metagame (campaign), dump this line somewhere in the beginning of the file:

Beautiful answers.. thanks guys. Will try it later once I'm bored of campaign but that might take a while. I will say the campaign is a bit too easy and there's some things I don't understand.. but I'm sure I'll work it out with starting gold / handicaps / etc to make it more challenging.

A moment ago an enemy I was dominating (10k+ gold vs. 700 gold lol) took over a really nice base I built with about 12 turrets defending it... because (I think..) when I was designing the base I didn't add a brain.. which means them simply showing up was enough to take control of MY turrets. I basically designed a base I now have to assault by accident. Lol. Not sure if it's a bug or the brain thing I mentioned is what caused it.

No problem! :wink:

The campaign has its flaws, the best tip I have to make it more challenging is to play a weaker faction (like the Ronin) against a stronger faction (like the Techion).
