I scoped out the game and ended up buying it, so far it's awesome. The amount of possibilities is seemingly endless, but I am a bit confused.

So far I have just been messing in the tutorial area. I'm wondering what you do in the campaign map exactly? I understand the role is to capture points, but as soon as I spawn and my brain-droid comes down I barely have enough time before the enemy already has a bunker set up and I'm left wondering what to do. When exactly do I set up my bunker.

Also I put the campaign at me and an ai vs 1 ai but when we all attacked the same map it seemingly was a free for all as I was attacked on both sides.

When you first invade a territory, you can't actually build any bunkers. You have to destroy the enemy brain with only whatever fortifications you can muster with diggers and raw manpower. After you've won and the turn ends, you can choose to allocate fortification funds to pay for any bunker modules you queue up in the building mode (also accessed after the fight phase).

Attacking is quite tricky. Best tips I have is to dig half a meter into the ground and set the brain to Gold Dig AI-mode. He should start digging himself into the ground, giving him some defense. After that, send some turrets/dreadnaughts/menwithguns to provide additional defense. Then you can start worrying about offense.

Cool, thanks for the info. What about the AI issue? On the team selection I made sure me and an AI were on the same team, yet when I attacked the planet I was hit on both sides even though all 3 of us were there (one enemy AI)

The maps wrap, so if the enemy moves to the left then they can attack you from the right.
