I've had this issue on many computers since the old builds and it's bothered me that there has never been any mention of it until now. Every single game there will be a few moments where the pie menu does not accept any of your directional commands. I would hold down the menu button and try to access the decisions but whenever I hold down a directional button, it will only register for the tiniest moment and release. It seems to fix itself if I'm to hold a directional button prior to pressing the menu button, locking the actor to walk in this direction. It can also be fixed by changing actors.

I believe I'm not the best at describing so if my language was very confusing, here is a laconic version.

The menu button displays the menu, but does not react to my directional buttons.

Has anybody else ever had this problem?

I've had that happen to me before, and I wasn't sure if that was a bug or not. I haven't experienced that other issue, though, since B26. (Months ago...)

I've experienced this every now and again, but so briefly and so rarely I didn't think much of it.

Happens only on pure keyboard, it seems. Physically moving the actor in question can solve the issue.
Perhaps it's a problem in the angle finding logic related to the actor position and screen position?

It's a gamestopper for me and my friends. Sometimes it takes awhile for it to repair itself. For example, I want a squad of skeletons to brainhunt. In heated games, it takes forever to command them! The error occurs so often during large scale games that I often lose precious time and actors as a result of lack of control.

EDIT: Not exactly a gamestopper but... it can sometimes change the course of the battle.

Use mouse control, then?

I think I have experienced this bug as well. It's annoying, but not as bad as having my actors explode when they cross the seam.

I'm pretty sure the exact circumstance it occurs is when you have two (or more) actors from the same team in physical contact with each other and you attempt to use the pie menu from one of them. It's probably an artifact of whatever trick they're using to allow the actors to walk past each other.

This helps so much! Now that I know the general cause, it's much faster to avoid. Thank you Kytin, I personally had some trouble replicating it. You must be a very observant player.

Heh, just practice I guess. I used to do quality assurance (bug testing) for 2K games.
