Post subject:  Breaker GL??

Sometimes when I play skirmish defence I see the coalition using a weapon just like the ronin's thumper, except with coalition colours. I checked on the buy menu and I simply cannot find it anywhere. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about it, possibly how to buy it in game.

You can enable it for buying by opening up GrenadeLaunchers.ini under %Cortex Command%\Coalition.rte\Devices\Weapons and change Buyable = 0 to Buyable = 1, this is on line 407 or there abouts. Where %Cortex Command% is where you installed the game to.

Yeah it was originally buyable untill Cave decided it might aswell be a Ronin gun because we already have a coalition GL.

Must've forgotten to remove it from the AI guns list.

Whenever/if ever the buy menu list gets made with expandable categories for factions, redundant weapons styled to different factions wouldn't be that bad, though.

Thanks. I did what you said about changing Buyable = 0 to Buyable = 1 and it worked. It seems exactly the same as the thumper but I prefer the breaker for some reason.

Oops. I was deleting some mods when I accidentally deleted the base.rte. I wasn't that worried about it because I knew that I could just re-download the game. after I re-downloaded, I noticed that the breaker GL was set to buyable = 0. I set it back to 1, but then when I tried to save it, it told me that I didn't have permission to save. I can not remember how I did it before and now I cannot re-enable it. Help would be appreciated :-(

Iirc you need to move CC to a location that you own, such as My Documents.

Moved it to my documents and it still didn't work so I took the grenadelaunchers.txt out, edited it and then dropped it back in again. Result: Abortion in file.\System\Reader.cpp,line 534, because:
Failed to open the included data file in Coalition.rte/Devices/Devices.ini at line 42!

The last frame has been dumped to 'abortscreen.bmp'
So anyway, I've included my grenadelaunchers.txt if anyone would like to take a look or use it themselves or whatever.

Because it's supposed to be a .ini, not a .txt.

Thanks. After about an hour trying to make it work with a .txt, I made it into a .ini and then spent a further hour trying to find the line that said "buyable = 0". In the end, I got it to work. Thanks to everyone who helped me make it buyable, I've been waiting for this for quite a while. :grin:

A tip for the future:

Ctrl+F allows you to find any text in a document. Hitting that and typing "Buyable" in the dialog box will bring you to the points in the file where "Buyable" appears.

While I'm at it, Ctrl+H allows you to find things, like Ctrl+F, but it also allows you to automatically replace all instances of a certain piece of text with another piece of text.

Two hours to change one variable is just silly :roll:
