I remember when I first played the game, I was completely overwhelmed with the massive list of weapons and armor, and I had absolutely no idea how to control flight. Getting out of the tutorial bunker was a significant challenge and even with an army of coalition soldiers armed with grenades and AK47s (which I got after digging up nearly the entire left side of the map), I couldn't beat those two dummy dreadnoughts without resorting to suicide craft methods. But I learned quickly and in 3-4 days I was able to beat the zombie cave and giant mother crab missions. Some of my friends on the other hand just gave up on the first try when they found themselves unable to land a rocket without blowing it up. (The maginot mission however was next to impossible without cheating until nearly a month after I started playing) (and even now I still can't consistently beat it without resorting to mods) So how long did it take for you to get over CC's learning curve? |

Hi! I come from playing terraria so this game was quite easy for me.I beaten tutorial at first try and lost zombie cave. The day after I played multiplayer with my wife and she learned quite fast (after killing me 10^n times by crashing on my units) |

I honestly don't remember, it was a progressive, over time thing though. Every time I played I got a little bit better, until I know what I was doing now. |

Took a year till I could fly rockets upside down crash-free. You're not good untill you can fly rockets upside down. |

I've owned CC since... hell, since before Zombie Cave and Maginot were a thing, like before there was even the tutorial map you can fastload into by disabling the Intro in the Settings. In fact, I booted up an old PC several weeks ago (I needed to check the hardware specs) and found a copy of either B14 or B16 - I forget which exactly. Still can't fly rockets, though. Though I have gotten the hang of the equally finicky Air Support dropship/gunship. |

I don't think it took me long, but I came in at B13, back when it was simple, plus I get the mechanics of gamers quicker than most. |

When I realised that equipping multiple weapons on the same character wasn't a good idea, I began learning faster. Like, in a day or two I could complete zombie cave with the brain and it's pistol. |

What learning curve? |

IMO it's less of a learning curve and more a refinement of technique. You go from killing people with rockets to killing people with pistols, but you're still killing people. I think the real test is what kind of maneuvers you can pull off on the ground: running, diving for cover, headbutting people to death... EDIT: Lizardheim, there is no way you can fly rockets upside down. I just tried it and did a nosedig cuz the thrusters are too weak. |

You can fly rocklets (dummy rockets) upside down just fine (or at least passably), you just have to burst jet a lot. I don't know about full sized ones though, I've never succeeded at more than landing a 360 spin there. |

Miggles wrote: What learning curve? seriously. this game allows for some amazing stunts you can pull with the jetpack and using duck to dive. the superman is my fav. you jetpack up then lightly use the duck button to make your character horizontal and parallel to the ground. gun the jetpacks and you go like 5 times faster. there was fancy ♥♥♥♥ too back before the duck button and before they got rid of the chibi characters but it was MUCH harder to do. i'd say to get pro at the controls and all this ♥♥♥♥ it shouldn't be much. the game is intensely deep while being pretty much as accessible as it possibly can be. you just gotta get the sort of "magic touch" in regards to maneuvering and stuff. and it don't take much |

I just remember that totalbiscuit (famous game commenter) once went through a quick playthrough of CC's tutorial and failed quite spectacularly. edit: nevermind |

It only took me a few days to get the hang of it. |
