So what exactly is the annihilator supposed to do?

Post subject:  So what exactly is the annihilator supposed to do?
The annihilator, supposedly the most powerful weapon in the Dummy arensal, just never really seems to quite live up to its name whenever I use it.
It's expensive, heavy, sounds powerful, looks powerful, shoots out powerful looking uber-impulse-lasers, yet it never quite seems to get to actually being powerful imo.

In B23, I find that the weapon shots tend to bounce off of dummy tank armor while a tiny nailgun seems to penetrate better and with a much better rate of fire.

In B26, the weapon feels slightly better in that its more flexible with its charging ability and that it could potentially instagib an enemy with a well aimed headshot, but I still prefer other more instantly satisfying dummy weapons such as the big nailer gun or the impulse cannon.

So is it just me or does the annihilator not really fulfill its role in "annihilating"?

I'd personally prefer if annihilator was something like Crobotech laser rifle or Space marines meltagun. Never use it in it's current state.

True story.

No but really, I've noticed how the laser sometimes bounces off from some materials, and that isn't really annhihilative(?) at all.

I LOVE the annihilator. Its very useful, i've one shot dreadnaughts with the thing.

I thought this thread was going to be about nerfing it!

I just played a game of B24 CC
The annihilator in B24 felt a great deal more powerful than the one in B23.
I might investigate this a bit more.

Current build is B26, might want to check that out first. :)

Yea, already did.
I was just playing around with some of the older mods which I had trouble running on B26.
Looked at the ini files, and found that the B23 and B24 annihilators are pretty much the same stat wise, except that B23 annihilator costs 250 and B24 costs 180

You have actually been holding down the trigger to charge shots haven't you?
