CC Progress?
[rant] It's painfully slow. Sometimes I just think that CC is dead and I have to accept it. Where is Build 27? Where are the status updates? Why do they keep us in the dark? Why do they refuse to give us any shred of hope that they are actually making progress on the game? Where are all the sour patch kids parents? WHERE ARE THE TECHION? This really raises more questions than it answers.
Why does the twitter for Data Realms only consist of stupid unrelated findings of things they thought were interesting on the internet? It enrages me deeply. Does it really take 5 months to produce even a minor update to an indie game? Are they lazy, lacking resources, or just giving up? The wonderful modders can only take this game so far. [/rant]

Just a small question before I can answer any of those. Since when do you play?

Re: CC Progress?
Yes, it does take that long. Data is a slow developer, his pace has remained constant for many years, approximately one new build every 3-5 months (give or take a few months).

Re: CC Progress?
Not necesarilly, it really depends. There are forum users that were lurking the forum for years, that's why I'd like to know.
I've been playing since B22, and even though the progress is somewhat slow, I don't feel frustrated. Partly because of the mods or because I mod, but for anything else, having new builds taking a lot of time is exciting. There is nothing cooler than when a new build gets released and everyone start going mad and everyone rushes to see the changes.
If updates were more regular, it wouldn't be as cool. It's better when it's a really huge event.

It's not even the fact that they don't update the game frequently enough, it's that they never keep us informed. It just happens, and in between that time, you have no idea whether there will even be another one. And that's the thing, the new builds only fix the game, leaving much to be desired in terms of new content.

Re: CC Progress?
I like when they fix things, in that way our content can develop better I'm trying to be optimistic here; we know that Data works on Cortex Command, that's a fact, and we also know that Data works slowly on it, that's fact number two. Fact number three is that he is like the only guy that works on it. Well, before we had more twitter updates, recently they have slowed down, but hey, B27 can't be that far!

Re: CC Progress?
i assume data is most likely unmotivated half of the time he gets up and see his work, thus he will likely to work on fixing little things or just do other stuff such as research or even play about with stuff. Either way it more of the "would you rather have good but long updates, or weekly but nothing but minor bug fixes or even buggier updates"
Most likely won't help when i going to be assuming a large sum of people barking orders for an update. (not to imply you was. just stating a fact i known from personal experience)

Re: CC Progress?
I'd like to see what he has released. Some of the listed changes seem interesting, and I'm excited to how much of a performance gain he actually has managed. My FPS problems on this game hurt my gameplay experience so much. But, ah well. At least we have that twitter feed, it is quite nice of him to provide that.

Re: CC Progress?
A couple of things regarding what you've posted: 1 Data keeps us pretty informed with the twitter stream, it just doesn't contain the content you want to see. 2 Most of your rethoric question can actually be answered if though you don't think they can, therefor defeating their purpose. 3 Asklar asked you that question so we could judge whether or not you've been playing since a few builds back or just started. Progress was a lot slower a year or so ago. 4 New content has been added put is not a priority right now. I think that if Data would really want to add new content, he'd just get lizard or some other dev to sprite up some godly stuff. That's just because CC either doesn't like your processor, or because nobody likes your processor.(This is the end of the "why does my computer suck at CC?" debate in this topic.)

Re: CC Progress?
I always daydream of getting lots of money and giving it to Datarealms so cortex command wont have a budget ....dont know why....
anyway yeap it is painfully slow but CC doesn't stop delivering its physically impossible for me to get bored of it.

It's exclusive to CC, because it's a Phenom II x4 955. ...I'm hoping he made his game less crap with my setup. I don't see why you responded this way. It's not like his 'optimizations' can't fix this silly problem. And this topic is about CC progress and updates, so...
