Post Survival game mode?
Like, a sandbox mode? Similar to Terraria? Where you create a base by harvesting gold in a persistent map. Where enemies showing up isnt a for gone conclusion? (Well, Not ALL the time at least. : p) it would add a lot of play time as well as a "Rpgish" aspect. while still keeping with the spirit of the game What do you guys think?

IMO could be interesting, I think First Signs was intended to be a bit like this.

Yeah, It'd be nice to have it somewhat less-objective based mission and a more sandboxy thing.

Meh, Fair point. I guess you would have to start making the game with that in mind. Otherwise, like you said, it'd be hard as **** to make. Ah well, T'was a interesting idea anyway.

Lol you made me think of biomes for cc, in more detail, but what the heck you add forest and jungle trees and huge background rocks and there you go (a must for atmospheric in cc, as proven with mods such as night forest, damn that was epic). Anyhow back to survival, i actualy made an lua activity called that, it consists of starting with many funds to build your base or starting units, but as soon as the game begins your funds go to 0 oz, you then need to dig to get any more gold and all hostiles dropped are on patrol ai mode. So you basicly make up your own story of survival. So yeah um i think it all depends on what your expectations of a survival game mode for cc is, surely alowing a player to add parts to his base cant be that hard, you could in addition like just open the normal bunker gui tabel through an additional pie menue option and then you basicly have your survival more or less.

More than survival, it would be something like "colonize" or "stablish" games mode, or something along those lines.

And it's a cool idea, exploring a map, creating your base, surviving attacks along the way...
But that's not how Cortex Command is meant to be played :D

Yes! Its made to be a gore fest full or random dieing actors being tossed in there by us supposed murdurous brains. Anyhow makes me think of the theme my clone is better than yours i.e. Your not actualy controling them but just sending them out in like a squad of three or one on one, and when variant ai comes out for differaint units you'll most definitivly be able to say my dummy is beta than yo crab, sucka. Edit:yes i know crabs already have differaint ai. Oh and would anyone want my mod activity mod i talked about? i should actualy put my faction up too, should have long ago... The impulser, baller 8, razor, epic... Sory

Hi guys, this is my first post. But I think this is a great idea and it deserves my first post. I believe a colonization like thing would be great for CC, I mean look at the concept art when you start it up. The giant city there? Would be fun to build one like that. It'd take a LOT of scripting and stuff, as in the modules for the buildings and roads and civilian actors, and a huge awesome map. And that'd be cool along with what your talking about, starting off as a small defense post and upgrading to a whole city. I support this 100 % even though I have no experience at modding. Or anything else but playing the game.

The whole ideas seems incredibly fun to play, but not to make, I suppose.

It would work more easily if Cortex Command was in 3D (I don't say I don't like 2D! It would just slightly easier to implement in 3D enviroment).

Hmm...If that would be, playing with that upcoming Outerra engine would work finely. I heard that it's even not very resource-consuming thing...

Well, maybe this will become possible. Until then the closest thing I can think of is Unmapped Lands - I recommend you try that out.

Wave After Wave of Men Untill 10 Waves have Passed then Peaceful, Mabey a Bonus Round allowing the Player To Build During that time and Then Another Wave of 10 Waves getting progressively harder untill your completely overrun and destroy.

Or...

Wave After Wave of Men. Building While Been Attack and each wave would get progressive harder and harder untill your over run and completely destroy.

Sounds Nice Dosen't it?
Oh And you would have Completely Access to all Bunker Modules and Bits along with Units, Gear. OZ to buy theses Objects. Also Cerntain Objects Such as Reactors Would Upgrade them Self After Producing a Certain Amount of Power.

i've already done some Concept for Reactors because i was planning on starting a thread just like this or as the title suggests.

More Will Be Added.

As far as I'm aware, it's impossible to turn back to building phase once you started the fight.

It isn't impossible. It actually only requires altering a single variable of the ActivityMan

Code:
self.ActivityState = Activity.EDITING

Though it might be a bit buggy, so you might also want to force doors to open, disable AI ect.
