Escape button doesn't work?

Post subject:  Escape button doesn't work?
Just an annoying bug, apparently, but I'd like to see if anyone else has this problem. About half the time, when I'm in a scenario, I can't get back to the menu no matter how many times I press ESC. Any ideas? I'm just curious.

Press Q, then hit escape. I've found this works invariably (unless your keyboard is broken).

Pressing E works too. I guess you have to do some kind of input before ESC works.

I use F1 to make it respond to me. Works too.

Its because the game requires input before it can escape.

I thought it was that you couldn't get into the menu while having a brain unit selected.

I have never tried to abort One Man Army missions.
And in the case I did, it wasn't with a brain unit.
