First scene release for CC I've seen.
E: I feel I should clarify that THETA is a group that cracks games.

He's right, this is nothing new.

When I sent him an e-mail about a pirate version of CC in September 2009, Data said this:
Quote:
Thanks for the heads up, but these guys are actually helping us by spreading the word about the game. People who pirate today may end up buying a license at a later date.

TOTALLY NOT WHAT I DID nope. Totally not.
Yeah, CC cracks have been around since at least B22. NOT THAT I WOULD KNOW.

This is completely and totally off-topic but everytime I see data's
- D

I feel like I should correct it to
8 ---- D

But He has a good point. Seeing a major group cracking this is quite good for business. (and possibly encouragement to hurry the ♥♥♥♥ up)

though it's funny they're cracking b23 when you can get b24 direct from the supplier with no DRM at all

Well yeah, but Data said to only download that if you have a legit non-HIB key. :P

And unless the pirates are sticklers for b23, cracks won't be necessary in the future, either, since I believe it was said that HIB buyers will get a DRM-free version for all future builds? And of course someone's gonna pass it around.

I don't think anyone is sure what's going to happen with B25, including Data. Especially with this OnLive stuff.

Point was it's the first I've seen from an actual scene group and not some random crack you found on tpb.
E: Not that any of you would know anything about the scene. scoff

Except B24 is really unstable, has some missing missions, and generally feels rushed, so a lot of people (Myself included) prefer rolling back to B23...

TBH I've seen copies of earlier builds cracked before and I don't think this is anything new.

Do you mean OnLive like http://www.onlive.com? Because that makes me totally pumped.

Although Grif has sharp teeth, he's completely right. This discussion has been had before and the general consensus is nobody gives a ♥♥♥♥ then the thread got locked by a certain someone.

DRM and capitalism are responsible for making games bad, not developers (well unless the idea is terrible). OnLive scares the crap outta me, games simple should not be released on a pay to play or pay per play basis, never. When I say that I don't mean we shouldn't have to pay for games, just not more than once. Hence why I will never play an mmo that you pay for.
Art and capitalism are two things that react badly when mixed, hence publishers are scumbags and tend to ruin good projects because they wont sell to the mass population and developers are forced into being controlled by them just so they can make a living for themselves.

The way OnLive works is that it is a service, not a product.

There is nothing scary about Onlive being a service with constantly maintained server warehouses that continuously pipe games to your house.

Also, grif, stop being an ♥♥♥hole. Because we are a smaller community than before, nobody even cares if we're on topic, as long as it's interesting to read.

Though, when/if drl grows/gets noticed after B25, that will change.

Also, pirating is bad. Don't do it. Unless you buy it later and tell all your friends, I guess.

Alright so I was unnecessarily harsh, but the point I was making is still valid; this isn't a thread for how inferior B24 is, this is a thread that is (arguably/currently) about piracy and CC.

There have been several threads about the quality of B24, and a new thread could be made on the issue, rather than having two major topics of conversation in this one thread.
