Post The Mod I've Been Looking For
Due to the INCREDIBLY UNHELPFUL search engine ('Cannot use search at this time' or it gives me completely unrelated topics) I'm forced to resort to the help of the community.

So, Here's my question! Basicly I would like to know where and what the mysterious and cool sounding Ypsilon canon is.

Answer and ditch.

The Ypsilon cannon was a super weapon included in an old version of AAL. It was one of the 26 "alphabet" bombs (Y for Ypsilon) You would order the Ypsilon cannon as a grenade which, when thrown, would spawn a long-range designator rifle. Using it like an ordinary gun, you would paint a target and fire, at which point the designator would break. The cannon was a multi-stage orbital attack from space which, if I recall correctly, started with an ion bombardment that inflicted heavy damage on infantry within about a screen length of the designated target, then moved on to a focused intense plasma beam that would cut straight through bunkers, and out the bottom of the map, more often than not!

However, this version of AAL is not compatible with the current Build of Cortex Command. You would have to convert it. The Ypsilon cannon was also re-released as part of the "AAL Experimental Technologies" mod, which you can download here.

PS: I found that link with the Search. See? Look at the 6th post down. Click on that thread. You will find that Allstone linked sam123486 to this thread, where Allstone had posted the Experimental Tech mod in the second post. Yeah, Search is totally useless. You need to know how to use it- ie maybe read more than the first two entries and not rage when a download link doesn't magically pop up in your browser window.

EDIT: Allstone, God that he is, actually made a converted version of this, which worked for B23. I think it should work for B24.

It should work with B24; there aren't any scenes involved nor vanilla references, if I recall correctly.
