Hi I have a couple of questions the info of which would predicate some suggestions I might be able to make to assist with the PR issues you have now.

* The names and roles (or areas of expertise) of your co developers.
* Some description on the frequency and type of interaction between Data Realms developers.
* Is the direction of the game development currently geared toward Campaign or Skirmish or Sandbox play.

That's it for now.

Thanks for B24 despite the issues...btw I would like to personally add that due to the limitations of the multiplayer side of things the two most important developments for me are currently

*The creation of new base classes to mod for.
*The Creation of vanilla unit content (work on factions etc based on the recent concept art thread).

See credits.txt for the names of the devs.

Yeah, Credits.txt has most of the roles, except for numgun quitting.

I believe that they work with an SVN or some-sort of shared folder.

And I'm almost certain that they are geared towards campaigning.

Perhaps it's just me but I would have thought the longevity of the community and the basis for the most excitement is the sandbox possibilities what with Data spending the effort to make it modifiable in the first place.

I would love to see more vanilla content on the basis of Promster's artwork but if modding and creating units with more flexible base classes was the sole priority then this would be good enough for me.

I think the ability of the modding community to generate ideas based on the engine is one of the things that would hook people to this game, and if the tools and the engine were tweaked as a priority to allow greater freedom with modding then the perceived lack of Vanilla content which seems to be a gripe of a number of B23 fans would be moot.

What I mean is you have many capable modders to create content for the game, when I hit the inevitable impasse of time I can devote to modding and the difficulty bringing some of my own ideas to life within that time I was able to keep interest in the game based purely on the strength of the mods on offer and the ability to tweak them to my liking.

In conclusion I suggest release B25 with some sexy Complete Vanilla factions or support your modders efforts by having the dev log updated by your devs.

Hope this helps :?

I like your style of thinking!
but most buyers of HIB probably will never discover the forums, where the majority of content is! so sadly, Vanilla content is a must, even if CC didint have a forum, vanilla is important!

I don't think this helps. The team doesn't need another fan setting themself up for outrage.
[A part of the dev team agrees]

Outrage how so?

For me what impressed me most was the customization and the fact the game had such an active modding community.

Also since the Dev log update I can see why there has been so much progress toward a campaign.

Kudos for what has been achieved but I was simply stating my interest is to a large degree in the ability to create units I am interested in and enjoying the sandbox style aspect of play.

To that end I will try to support the tools development which has started.

Cheers

Disst. If the mods have a problem with it, they'll say so- you know they all have very open minds, to put it politely. We don't need you needlessly immolating the guy who's trying to sincerely be helpful, regardless of how much I'm inclined to agree with your brazen observation.

Whoa there (game discussion forum if I'm not mistaken) I don't claim to be anymore entitled than any other developer support package customer and just expressing my opinion. :???:

You are asking for a damn lot.
[And if I remember, you really aren't entitled to anything other than a fancy forum badge]

No worries, Doc- as you can see by Duh's response, Disst's little post was completely unwarranted. You're fine ;)

Foa: Suggesting. Not asking or demanding. His OP can literally boil down to "Hey, could you tell me x so I can help with y?" It's not as if he's acting like any of the DR staff has to help him do it- or that he's even remotely entitled to it- he just thinks he might be able to help. I say kudos to that.

EDIT: Though I do agree that I doubt there is much you can do, or that Data is even willing to allow you to help as much as you can. No offense :P
