*ahem*

CHILL.

Yes, there are a lot of people who are ticked off at the seemingly poor quality of the build. I'm included among them, and I've let my own personal opinion be known in other threads.

However, Data has said that he's going to write up a devlog soon and explain what exactly has been added to B24 and how that's important, as well as what he plans on adding in the future. He also has no intention of stopping progress on CC- this isn't the final version, so stop acting like it's the end of the world. I understand that everyone got superhyped up for the first update in a year and a half, but seriously, understand that this is a very lazy man and we're lucky to get this haphazard update as it is. He's fully aware of the general disappointment within the community- yelling at him more will not motivate him to code any faster, it can only be counterproductive.

If you feel like screaming obscenities at Data, go find a small animal and do it in real life. You will feel better from the psuedo-vindication and Data will be slightly less annoyed that his attempt to actually do something generated a maelstrom of rage.

PS -> You will all probably feel much less angry tomorrow when you realize how out of proportion we've blown this. It's a $20 investment. C'mon. I think the hype over the release combined with the minimal content caused an over-exaggeration of hate. Yelling about it will solve nothing other than a collective increase in the blood pressure of everyone on the forum.

The above. Please at least let the man say his piece before continuing with the abuse.

Would have saved a lot of trouble if he'd done that before the release though...

Most of us are chill.

There are only a few outspoken people who aren't.. But I kinda understand why they feel this way.

Doesn't Data have a job and a life beyond CC, too? Forgive me if this is blasphemous, but I honestly can't blame him for not devoting his life to this project.

Besides which, it seems as though this is just another intermediary step; I'm thinkin' that if he has a metagame of some sort that far into development, it's not far off from being usable. Besides which, this update is significantly better than nothing, and it's fun, dammit. If you guys still wanna ♥♥♥♥♥ and moan, go play B23 some more.

Job? No.

He rides unicycles and shoots AK-47s. If that isn't a job, I don't know what is.

There's really nothing that can be said in defense of Data. You can only be honest and say that he's a bad developer, and that's fair.

If you develop a game this slowly and poorly, you are a bad developer, no matter what the reason for it is. He might have good reasons too, maybe his wife left him and his dog died in the same week, I dunno. Of course if that were true I would definitely understand it, although from what I've heard, Data is just really lazy. Any way you look at it, he's a bad developer and that's all there really is to be said about it.

I don't think anybody has grounds to be angry over it, just disappointed.

See my post in the nine page long thread around here. Chill out and act like sensible people and we won't have a problem, but getting rowdy will land you a warning or a tempban.

It's mostly irritating to see him squander potential like this. I know that I only invested 20 bucks, and I've certainly got that value back.

However, regardless of this, he did take two years to release (at most) two weeks worth of changes. Just stop and think about everything you have done in the last two years. Seriously. Right now. I don't know about you, but to me, two years is a bloody long time. In that time, very little progress has been made.

As a consumer, I feel a vague sense of betrayal, as a coder, a sense of annoyance, and as a gamer, a sense of disappointment. It is well within my rights to make my displeasure known, and I intend to do so. No more, no less.

EDIT: I didn't read Duh's post until after I hit submit. My bad.

Quite fine since you're rather polite about it, but thank you for your consideration of my post.

I'm not really so much on the hate train as much as the mild disappointment change, but from my understanding the issue is not that people feel as if they didn't get their moneys worth, it's more a violation of trust. We trusted Data to reciprocate some our dedication into the game we love, and he has not.

We would all be love and hugs towards data right now if he never showed any hint of the campaign. I knew b24 with the probability of a campaign was too good to be true but i still hyped myself to death with it anyways. Lack of Communication with the Dev Made the community feel betrayed.

More better?

clOWN please think through your posts before posting if the argument you are basing them one even has base in reality.

I bought Cortex Command so long ago, I don't even miss the money I spent on it.
I'm a bit disappointed in the update, yes, but I'm excited to see that Cortex Command is still alive.
