Hey guys.

I Have a Question... how large are your Monitors (resolution) and in wich Resolution do you guys play? I just Bought an 24" FUllHD and if i play at the given res. everything is just soooo small... look at this!

Image

I mean if iam at the landing site i can barely even see the cave man! everything is just so small... sure, i can lower the res. but i cant think of that to be wanted. If i enter the right resolution of my screen i want the game to size everything right, right? :) Just something i want to point at.

800x600 and 640x480 are the best to play CC on.

It can't resize everything, pixels will be pixels, and pixels can't be made bigger.
It's not small, it's the right size, you're just seeing more on the screen, probably giving the illusion of the level looking smaller.

Ugh, i'm not that good at putting things into words, could someone elaborate this please?

Go a smaller resolution, but go 2x window mode. Get to look more closely at Prom's pretty spriting.

When you increase resolution, you increase how much of the screen you see. turn it down so that everything looks fine.
What speed do you get running the game when you press Ctrl-P?

EDIT: Oops, didn't see the 'post your preferances'. I have a 1280x1024 screen but use 800x600 SVGA, otherwise it lags too much on overly large/full maps.

To just add to the personal preferences list here: I like to run it at half the quality of my screen, and then going full screen. So all pixels are 4x original size, gives you a good look at the game while still having a attaining control over the battle.

For you this would be 960x540, I guess you just gotta see if that works for you.

This off coarse is nearly what the others are saying about 800x600, but this is widescreen for the modern age of gaming.

EDIT: 19" 1440x900 screen btw, I think it's perfectly visible even on that resolution but I love my 600fps way too much to go to the 200 that is coupled to such qualities.

1680 x 1050 resolution screen, run in 1440 x 900 because CC doesn't like my video card.

CC DOESN'T USE VIDEO CARDS!!!!!!!!!

CC doesn't use hardware acceleration with video cards. That doesn't mean it entirely ignores your video card. I can't run CC in 2x mode because of my video card.

The only thing it uses the video card for is blitting and seemingly scaling, everything else uses allegro which doesn't use the video card at all.

If you have a high resolution LCD monitor, I recommend running it at a resolution that is half your native resolution. For example, if you have a 1600x1200 native resolution, run the game at 800x600. Everything will be scaled up 2x and look nice. The problem for me is, I have a (wide screen) 1920x1200 resolution, and there is no 960x600 option in the game. I end up using the 800x600 rez, and have black bars on the sides of the screen.

Does anyone know if there is a way to get a custom resolution in the game? Modifying the file with that setting in it to a custom value seems to make the game fail to load. :(
