Post materials tweak
I made some changes to Base.rte's materials and was woundering what changes everyone else uses?

What I did was I doubled the structural integrity of concrete (which is too high and I will be lowering it), and changed mangled metal to 75, and scrap metal to 75. (all original values commented out incase I want them back)

now junk piles up nice and is seems bit harder to clear which is also nice, though I didn't get much of a chance to test it out.

I think I will try 80-85 for mangled metal and scrap metal, and 100 for concrete.
My goal is to have a medium digger have a lot of difficulty getting through concrete and a heavy digger just have some trouble.

Again like I said I would like to know what all you guys have done to your materials. :P

I keep mine vanilla, so that my mods place nicely on a fresh install.

Have you tried the modded materials Duh posted in the minor mod dump?
I played with them for a while, before I realised that all the vanilla weapons were useless against anyone with a dinner tray.
I would prefer tougher vanilla materials though, especially concrete and metal.

Yes I found them to be too tough for vanilla content too, thats why I'm taking some extra time to do smaller tweaks. I think I'm only going to edit the above, plus dirt could be slightly tougher but not by much maybe +5-10.

BTW does anyone know what all IsScrap uses? I guessed when I edited mangled metal and scrap metal.

I picked 5x as an arbitrary multiplier, 2.5 or 2x might be better. Diggers especially need to be buffed, but other weapons felt more... proper. And you actually needed explosive charges to break open doors, which felt a lot more proper.

@Duh nothing against your tweak, I did find it fun. I'm just using existing weapons and tools as a base level, and adjusting things accordingly. (I think I even PM-ed you that I liked it)

...Doors, yes I was looking at door metal and thinking if I changed it diggers would have more trouble but so would guns? I'm going to look at your edit again and test the doors. You may be on to something there.
I like the idea of having to blow them off there hinges.

Doors still need to be an easier method of entry than just tunnelling through the earth.
Which means that dirt needs to be buffed.

You just need to strike a balance in which your average bullet goes through no more than a meter of dirt, but can still barely chip concrete, and bounce off some metals.

If it were up to me that is.
Am I correct in thinking that the general community opinion is that most materials should be stronger?

Based in numgun's game play survey, yes you are correct.
