Now, I know that this game will not support multiplayer. End of Story. What I had was an Idea for a slightly modified version, that would keep a similar feel. Similar, but not the same, therefore this will likely not happen, because it would require some changes to the source. If each player was given X dollars Pre-Game to select an actor and then it's equipment, then was spawned onto a pre-built-indistructible game world, He/she would fight against other actors, controlled by other users. This way, there is not only no sync for crafts, there is also no sync for terrain. I know this drastically changes the way the game plays, but it could still retain it's physics charm. Perhaps giving actors double or one-and-a-half times health would keep players in for longer. If a player does not have a specific mod (an option for vanilla content only should be available), then he/she would be sent the actor, the guns, and perhaps some lua/glows, but that would be it. There would be no more than a handful of actors at a time in the game, so the computers would be able to sustain themselves relatively well, decreasing the chance of desync If anybody sees a potential problem here, please let me know, because I'm really curious about if this would/could work. EDIT: and yes, this is just below the "you will be warned if you make a thread about online play", but I thought that this idea might just work and I was hoping that I could kind of bypass that rule. I know that in it's current state, Multiplayer isn't going to happen. I know that data has basically said that he won't do it. But I was more looking for an avid coder with acess to some source to try it out. @mods, Please actually Think about my post before warning me. |

Oh, damn, I haven't seen it. ... Oh wow, I look like a newb. *TOPIK LAWK* EDIT: looked up soldat, That's sort of what I was going for, but I really like the art style that this game has as well as the physics it's got. Too bad. |

That would work even more with the new metagame, having players actually interact on the "risk" board but have CPUs take over when you defended. |
