Long ago, back in 2010, Toyota made a defective car. At first it was okay, even if it was the largest car recall in their history, but then things turned even worse. The cars weren't just lurching forward, the steering wheels where locking while the tires changed direction, the engines where exploding, and the air bags wouldn't deploy. Toyota was nearly destroyed, if not for a promise made: "Toyota will not show his ugly face until are cars are better than anything ever seen. In fact," he said, "they will be so safe that even if you feel off a mountain, you'd walk away from it." Unfortunately, in their haste, they hired a seemingly harmless man with a simple task: Construct a life-like testing dummy. This man was mentally unstable and sent Toyota near-bankrupt with his life-like testing dummy. In his rage, the head of Toyota fired everyone and stored everything in his storehouse and sold most of his company. For nearly 1000 years the only thing his family had left, the dummy's, was rotting in the Toyota warehouse. It was not until the great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, grandson of Toyota was on his deathbed and left the storehouse to his son. Curious, his son went and discovered the dummy's. Such a simple invention was lost in time as they were useless because cars disappeared years ago. They where incredible to him and everyone he showed them to. The dummy's could sustain large impacts and remain intact. He decided that they represented a huge opportunity in the recent intergalactic gold rush. He created a new faction, and now has a promising future with Tradestar's contracts. Sorry about the Toyota thing, not trying to offend anyone, it's just a story. Any idea's for other factions? |

I'm terribly, terribly sorry to hear that... I swear I didn't mean any harm, like I said. I don't think it's funny, it sort of fit into the story. I'm sorry, I'll change it as soon as I can, and I didn't know anyone died. |

I think Dauss should be banned. After all, that's not the sort of friendly, helpful attitude we should expect from mods. Oh lawd. |

Is this ideas for stories of the existing factions, or ideas for more factions? |

That's great. Had a feeling it wasn't true. But yea, I'm on the wrong computer that I saved the story on, so I'll re-post it when I get the chance. I need to learn a lot more about real-life before I learn about the internet. But now that I think of it, the story is a little immature, and it was quite rude of me to not think about if someone actually died, I thought no one had. And yes, these are ideas for the backgrounds of existing factions, mine was on the dummy's. It wasn't that great I think. Sure others can do better |

Not agreed, dauss isn't a exemplary user but keep the fire hammer of justice in B18 grave. I would like to know more about church faction, I miss motivations in actual factions just hiper-armored troops with samurai semblances to die again and again because you force them... also, I hope crom stills available to draw concept about history line, classic style must keep classic. |

The 'church faction' probably doesn't exist by the time CC takes place. Pretty sure they were just in there to clarify that human history had some bad times before all the intergalactic trade stuff. I'm guessing their story will go unmade, if not untold. |

It can't be! Religious fanatic believes mix perfect with neo sci-fi! Dead Space its the proof, great motivations + space weird facts = very bloody/cool consequences... Anyway, azukki, god will punish me for contradict you but, how do you know will not be a church history in cc ? |

I don't know, really, but I was pretty sure in my guess. I think prom or someone also said something that mildly supported it, but didn't confirm it? I forget. It is interesting though, in a sci-fi setting, to have a group with less pragmatic convictions and ideologies, to conflict with the usual space explorers' attitudes of efficiency and goals of profit and/or knowledge. Maybe they fled earth at the end of their reign of terror, and then you happen to run into them and they attack you in some kind of revenge or something? |

It seems more like humanity decided to stuff their brains into jars and take off, course it implies it <CC> takes place sometime after the end of a warring age. Though we have the Ronins, and the possibly human based coalition. We still need the alien factions featured in the opening. I'd see the church faction be some kinda corrupted Knights Templar group hiding in the shadows. If they were ever implemented in-game that is. |

Well, after humanity was inquisited by the robotic inquisition, they chill out, become bffs, then they slowly progress to immortality, then see that they have voided all constraints of old, and decide to see the galaxy. Emphasis on " then see that they have voided all constraints of old " . |

I've always been very curious of the different faction motivations. Like the coalition just represents your typical military faction, but... why? Who bands together to form the 'Coalition' faction? |
