Alright, every time I try to start up CC I get this spit out at me:

Quote:
Abortion in file. /System/Reader.ccp, in line 531, because:

Wrong type in Reader when passed to Serializable::Create() in Base.rte/Settings.ini at line 184!

The last frame has bean dumped to 'abortscreen.bmp'

So, anyone know what's wrong and what to do?

Your settings.ini is likely corrupt. Recommend reinstall, or restore backup if you made one.

Remove some of your mods. I had this yesterday, and that worked fine.

Apparently no single mod causes it.

Reinstalled and moved all my mods. Still screwed up.

Deleting some mods.

Deleted about five unused mods laying around. Still an error.

You have to fix the settings.ini everytime it messes up, and then you remove the mods and try it.

Nonono, don't mess with mods or anything.

Unregister with the unregister.bat in the cc folder.

Replace your current base.rte/settings.ini with this one.
Attachment:
Settings.ini [547 Bytes]
Downloaded 181 times

Re-register.
Reconfigure settings as necessary.

When settings.ini is corrupted, a big chunk of it abruptly goes missing, usually the controls for player four.
I've never used those, so I usually just copy over the equivalent chunk from player three when this happens, and it's fixed.
But that's a little more complex than just replacing the entire file. It does conserve most settings though, so it's easier if you know what you're doing.

I pmed electroclan asking him to replace the officially posted fix of "reinstall cc", but he never read it, much less used it.
Any more active mods/admins want it forwarded to them? PM me.

To avoid this in future, always keep a backup of Settings.ini.
