So I play the demo, do all the demo missions in under 6 minutes, like to take a break and tear things up for a bit. If the game ever sees a commercial release, I'll pay for it. I notice a lot of the weapons were nerfed... um... balanced from 2.2 to 2.3. The wait to fire after a long reload is kinda annoying. Anyway, I was having fun shooting down dummies in Maginot when I found... The Dummy Repeater, described as an "assault weapon" with a long reload time. But it's more than an assault weapon. It fires LEPROSY. Hit enemies, and they fall apart, often in a single shot. Weapons dissolve. Limbs turn to dust. Some kind of nanite plague does a random walk through their bodies. Assault indeed! Actually, there is a commerical release. That may not be what you meant, though. I've been rebalancing some of the weapons for B24, so hopefully a few of these issues will be fixed. It's still not perfect, I can say that for sure. If all goes well, the community can provide some insight on what still needs fixing once it's out. |

It's also less effective on fleeing targets, since the area of effect on impact doesn't move, so they can get away from the 'leprosy' as you call it. Or, they can walk further into it, making it even worse. Shoot it at the bottom side of a descending dropship, or the top side of an ascending dropship, and you'll see it put to it's full power. Or shoot at an incoming dreadnought. But if you hit a coalition jetpacking away, fleeing, you'll do little to nothing. |

Of course, I realize I can "purchase" the beta. But I'm not a game developer or modder, just a casual gamer who likes casually blowing sh*t up. Which is not to say I do not think it is awesome, because it is. I'll definitely buy it when there is a story and missions and an end-to-end single player campaign of some sort that my non-modder self can enjoy. RR |

You do not need the full version to mod or to use mods. However, the six minute limit is somewhat prohibitive in your ability to play some of the lengthier scenes which other modders have released. An example would be the various defence maps, body ladder and reject. |

In that case, you might want to buy it before the next build, as there is a price-hike-up proportional to the amount of stuff added each build, so the quicker you buy it the less you pay. I agree that the repeater is pretty cool, could use a lot of pretty-fying on the effects though. |

I'm just a casual gamers who liked the game and bought it and it's been one of my best purchases ever. It's probably my most favourite game. It doesn't feel like a beta if you buy the game, there just isn't much of a campaign but you can download extra scenes so that makes up for it. On the repeater when i tried it, it didn't feel that powerful. Maybe i just need to find the right situation. I'll go try that now actually... |

It only doesn't feel powerful because people like Shook spoil us. |
