Ok, I got to say things. But lotsa thing (2), all related to CC and some non-indies games, so I didn't want to bother making more than one thread.

First off, yesterday I was playing CC and asked myself " Hey what would Cortex Command look like in 3D? ". So I went on and tried to think of some good games that will be released soon that have something in common with CC, at least a little something. Then, bang. It was obvious. I should have tought of it a month ago... So let's see...

Legend: More or less, Yes, no.
Cortex Command ¦ Red Faction: Guerrilla
Open World ¦ Open World
Boom ¦ Boom
Jetpack ¦ Jetpack
Super realistic and fun physics ¦ Super realistic and fun physics
About a bunch of miners ¦ About a bunch of miners
Features terrain destruction ¦ Features terrain destruction
Realistic building destruction ¦ Realistic building destruction
3D ¦ 3D

Oh damn. Red Faction: Guerrilla is CC's 3D Brother. I played the demo, and all I have to say is " guh ". Awesome game it'll be.

Now second thing, I just rented Bionic Commando, (Singleplayer sucks, Multiplayer's awesome) and asked myself "Damn, why isn't there any grappling hook in CC? Oh yes, forgot. Lag. Lag lag lag. But... Worms does it! And, and, and Liero too!I won't mention "YFTGH", but I should. Why don't we have one, no need for super realistic ropes physics but, man we need one. One problem would be what happens if an actor would be hooked to a particle that gets annihilated. Maybe, I said MAYBE we could just make the actor fall?

A grappling hook would be EXCELLENT for pulling off heads!

There's a bit of a problem with CC having an open world...

But the realistic buildings destruction part wouldn't be too
hard if Data made the stuff that doors are made of able to
be applied to other pinned objects like MOSRs, and the gibs
editor would make it so much easier...

And 3D think Voxelstein, but with more Physics.

Also, Red Faction is awesome, I loved how you could smash darn near EVERYTHING.

Speaking of Red Faction, we need a Ostrich hammer on CC!

Red Faction made me sad when it lost the terrain deformation that they said was gonna be in it.

Also shouldn't this be in General?

TBH, they lost the only original thing that Red Faction has if they removed Geomod

Although multiplayer could be fun, 16 people crashing through buildings.

That would be cool.
And intense, but we still need that MO-MO collision if we want people standing on gibbable building without bouncing around.

Yep, but not only is it original, it is also really awesome. But the game itself is really good. Just not as good as what it is with Geomod.

That would not be cool.
It is. It's already in the game.

Red faction was going to get terrain deformation!!!??? How awesome would that be? Maybe in a sequel...

Also, it isn't in general?

Altrough I am, I don't want to sound like a hype machine. The game could really suck. But the demo is aceee.

See Red Faction. As in, the original. Fully deformable terrain.
And, once you carved it out, pieces could drop on and kill you. It was great fun. Too bad the story kinda sucked.

NoBe, there is no MO-MO collision in CC. The thought of Red Faction and CC being alike never crossed my mind, because I don't think they're that alike.

Yeah there are collisions, but they don't work like intended.
You can't ride a dropship without the clone or dropship dying.

Bleh. 5 seconds into the red faction demo I got bored and left. It has pretty standard destructible objects.

Too bad This shittel Red Faction game doesn't keep the one element that made Red Faction have about 1000 different ways to do an objective.
This new one has maybe 10 options.

no offense to the makers of the new Red Faction, but really.
The new character model also makes me rage, I hate it so much.
I liked the miner suit.

Ooh but you can do that in the new game. I tought you meant like this

Yeah, you can't really say this thing. Sorry if .Gif sucks. So, briefly, the buildings can all be destroyed but you can't change sh!t to how the terrain's made.

My mistake, I was pretty sure you meant that red faction lacked a multiplayer, not CC.
