Hey, I have a few questions regarding multiple things, first of all, are there any tutorials which can show me what different things can be put in the .ini files? And do the .ini files using a certain programming/scripting language? And my second question is, I looked at the Modding templates, and I didn't understand what they should be used for, what use do they have? Thanks in advance... |

The .ini files use a variable based modding system that emulates the way objects are defined in C++. By setting various attributes you can do different things in modding. It's in no way "real" programming or scripting, nor is it based on any "real" language. The things that can be put in .ini files are what's already in .ini files. Virtually all of CC modding is copying, pasting, and replacing names. Templates give you a preexisting setup to modify to your wildest dreams without damaging any main game content. |

Modding templates are meant to be the base where you start building you gun or whatever so you don't have to write the whole code yourself. You should first take a good look to the ini, investigating what there is and just try change some values like fire rate or stuff like that. You'll learn it by looking it enough long and reading some tutos and checking other peoples stuff out. I'm don't know the language thing for sure but I've never seen that kind of code anywhere else. The wiki contains a lot of useful information. From the front page of the forums go to wiki and then modding or something like that. There's a bunch of explanations about the various variables. |
