#1: Data has said that the meta game will include different factions. Will we be able to define what the factions can order without editing their base files? UniTec wouldn't be UniTec if the faction you chose couldn't still order from them. #2: We should be able to pick up attachables such as helmets. It'd be very useful if you could get your helmet back as a Coalition clone, or if you were a Dummy and you wanted the extra protection. |

By multiple factions he's referring to factions of base content, eg Ronin, Coalition, etc. Mod content will never be implemented into the main game the same way as first party content; it's just that Lua will let modders make their own campaigns. In theory. |

great if you could glue gibs to yourself too. i am a clone, i am dressed in heavy metal plating, so i cant fly. but good news! the game is awesome because i am wearing the remains of a delivery craft! now i am wearing the meat of a zombie! hooray! obviously MOs would have to stay as not-terrain for longer. that and the dropship gibs would have to lose a lot of weight. totally impractical to code and implement, but totally awesome. oh wait, this isnt a wishlist. |

Why would you be able to pick up everything? |

you wouldnt with your idea, you would with mine. because it would be awesome. however, i do like the idea of attachables being retrievable. however, they'd probably need classes and sizes, and there would be all kinds of issues with different sized body parts trying to grab attachables (MPAM head, coa helmet), so it doesn't seem that practical.. |

Off set problems though, is it really possible to get the helmet in place for EVERY single actor? Besides, some actors are special and if they try to put on regular armor, they'd screw up the graphics (MPAM with a coalition helmet anyone?). But well, if it's implanted then i guess it'd be really cool. |

bieng able to pick up junk would be very cool, and using them as throwable objects. and having an ActorStrength variable. |

Again, when did I say every actor would be able to pick up a coalition helmet? Hmm? Can anyone tell me that? |

The problem is that you never said that every actor COULDN'T. You put forth an idea that would require about a dozen new variables for one small cosmetic effect. First, you'd have to change offsets somehow such that one attachable would work on another actor. Second, you'd have to define whether something is "grabbable" by a certain actor class, and since there's no overarching actor classes you'd have to manually define. Then you need to define where the attachable is attachable, whether the attachable is even "attachable" again, and (again) find some way to update the offsets. Then you've got new headaches with collision, fitting it into canon, since the only thing that makes any amount of sense is helmets, and even then barely, updating drawafterparent (probably), mass updates, wound updates, and yeah, it's a very shortsighted idea. But then, most things people propose for CC are, so I won't hold it against you. |

Hey, they could do that, and it wouldn't have to be used only for that, it could be useful in many other ways. |

yeah, but the work far outweighs the gain, which is the main argument against almost all suggestions for CC. i will want water though <_< |

my bad, was meant to say "still want water" also, i love how everyone gets agressive over the whole water thing. i've been active through a few of the debates (mostly situated in the wishlist) which occured before you even joined the forums, epok. i know all the reasons against it, but there's not really much of a reason for why we couldnt do it in lua if we worked on the logic behind it so it was properly optimized. lua has been used for realtime 3D water before, without lag. besides that, it should have its own topic. it seems like the story behind CC is "too much CPU usage". |
