How to control craft?
Hi folks
i recently installed Cortex Control. It is a fantastic game with a heap of potential.
The only thing standing in the way of me purchasing this game is that I have no idea how to control the craft. Whenever I purchase anything it crashes and explodes. Any hints?

first of all use Q,E if you use the mouse and keyboard. second, use a dropship. Rocket is a little wonky for me... 3rd, when you seee a sign "your cargo has arrived", use the Q,E keys for switching actors, to switch crafts. You can "tell" the craft to "wait". Its best seen on Dropships. To switch to "wait" press down when selecting the place of drop.

Thanks for the tips, Skiv. I've had a practice and I'm getting a little better. I take it there's no way for the deliveries to take place on autopilot?

Droppods are going to be your friend. Also never EVER trust the AI to deliver something in tact from a rocket. They're not bad at delivering with dropships, though.

Aha. A 50% rate is better than my 100% failure rate.

You can also save money and effort by just ordering drop crates.

Known Cannonball Wrestler, I just like general Brain Wrestling, now to decode the complex, and overpowered exploits that the AI use.

Re: How to control craft?
how do you not control craft? bursting the thrusters on a rocket works well to slow quick falls (tap W lots), drop-pods are basically fail-proof, and as long as you drop your cargo from a height that allows them to not receive damage from the ground or your thrusters (i find 1.5 actors high works) drop ships are fine. craft arent that bad, on flat, hard surfaces you can even use rockets without fail, and drop-pods work at least 90% of the time, casualty-free.

Re: How to control craft?
A nifty little thing I found when controlling dropships and other crafts. Click the left mouse button(Fire) when playing with mouse and keyboard to open or close the hatch. If the dropship got nothing in it it will suck up anything under it. Including enemies and weapons. You can then go to the top of the screen to bring the dropship and the cargo back to sell it. Really usefull way to get money at the same time as you get rid of enemies, but don't fill the dropship too full or it may get too heavy to get back up.

Also the reason why my oz.s keeps on fluctuating, yet fun.

Pah! Drop crates?! Drop crates are for the weak and n00bish. I use the mk1 rocket, land it successfully every time, then when I 've got the cargo dropped off I fly off again and crash it into several enemies.

"weak and noobish" here means "for those who like speedy, (relatively) hassle free AI delivery"
