...but it'll at least be a new topic. Anyway, I've noticed during play that gold deposits in the ground have the same coloration as bullet casings. This is more of a quirk than a real criticism, but esthetically I think it'd be more pleasing to make a slight graphical alteration to one or the other. Which raises a question to me of why gold is the element of choice in CC. I know in the past CC was far more resource-gathering focused and that this aspect of gameplay has been severely diluted in favor of more extensive combat options and plot development. I believe everyone here agrees this was done for the better. I know a lot of scifi games will use a made up element or resource as a Macguffin, and I'm wondering if others feel if CC should implement it or if it already has and I'm not aware of it. There's somewhat of a limited color pallette for mine-ables. Metallic colors are obviously associated with the coin metals. Crytals might be hard to convey. Liquids/oil is a no no. Or the shell casings could just be made a different color. This is kind of a space filler discussion. Please dont rape me. |

I agree. Maybe we could use a teal color, have it have just a couple different shades so it kind of looks glowy without adding glows, and make it radioactive, so it harms miners over the long run, say 1 point ever 10-15 seconds. |

I do not like that idea. Although I have never had the problem of mining my own shell casings as I use mods for the gold I do see how it could be a problem. Maybe just change it to a slightly darker colour and the gold slightly lighter. |

I think radioactivity would be a mistake for common everday mining. But for a specialty mission it could be an interesting mod. |

How bout a mod that adds in uranium? 6-7 times more worth then gold but deadly over a period of 70 seconds to a coalition heavy? im trying to think of a good balance so any miners that may come in such a mod wouldnt just be good as supersoldiers, maybe make the uranium and the miner the same mat? just some thoughts. |

If there was Uranium it should be very near the bottom of the planet that could be extended a bit downwards and you need a special clone inside a yellow robotic suit like the one in Aliens but with glass and yellow cloth covering anything else. Then the Uranium wouldnt really be in the way of gold miners. |

That was sort of what i was thinking, except the uranium goes off in trails so it looks like glowing green plant roots. |

Maybe have it not be cloth but like armor plates which function the same way, so when those attachables get shot off then the radiation could harm it. I'm not saying add attachables to the whole thing, but just like a chest-plate and helmet that when shot off reveal a vulnerable part. |

there is that mod, "gold cheat" (im sorry i dont remember who did it) the is a gold ingot item in it, and has this very nice color and glow. For bullet casings i would see them in a more orange/copper color. And crystals/gems.. well, function the same as harvestable gold, but blue/red/green glowing particles when being harvested? |

From hating the idea of uranium to liking it but I would still want minimum to no glow, glow in CC in my opinion.. doesnt look good. |

Whitty's trooper is only immune to the radiation because it has high armour. You cannot set different damage types. Any other particle with the same sharpness as the radiation won't affect the Radiation Trooper either. |

There's also a "Toxic" material, so that could probably be a stand-in for Uranium. (the player gets money from the eco-terrorist group for cleaning the toxic waste from the landscape... or whatever funny reason you want) [Edit - the color of the material name is the closest color match i could find to the colors in the material.ini ... and now that i think about it, Toxic looks similar to gold/casings, too.] |

Don't give it actual glows, but use an optical illusion to make it look a littly shiny. Like have a lighter shade also work as that same material. |

Even though Uranium is always shown glowing in cartoons and games ect I still cant stand the glow in this game. I still havent go my vision 100% back from an explosion made up of only glowing particles. |
