The Linux version is bugged anyways, it's better to run the Windows one in Wine.

Well, one reason I always buy the HIBs is that those games all run on Linux and I don't have to try to use them in wine - because that's a pain, most games don't run out of the box, you need to search and download shitty dlls or other stuff which is needed and so on.

And CortexCommand is no exception, it doesn't just run in wine, it exits with a few not very informative errors.

My dad used one of his emails (he has multiple emails, some for spam) to buy it, and I didn't write down the key cause I thought I didn't need it anymore.

For me, the windows version on Wine just lag all the time.

To be compared with the bugs on the linux version:
-Very crappy sound for the jet-pack. Since it's the sound you head the most, it's unbearable.
-Game starts to lag, making the game unplayable after 5 minutes (except for the tutorial mission, witch is just fine).

I hope for a linux fix to come, since the HIB.

[edit]: I just wanted to add that I love Cortex Command. I don't want a refund. I want it to work. I still hang around there because the game is great, because I play the tutorial mission over and over and over.

Do anyone know who did the linux port ?

All the editors are due for a tune-up and fixes.. it's coming. The linux build 26 is still in the works; we are trying to resolve some performance and sound issues with it first

Already is, you just need to split a screen!

If you mean online multiplayer, then no. Not without either mods or hacky workarounds at least. Be warned both of those are old, out of date, and very likely either don't work and/or are abandoned.

I tough the linux version would carries on with all the specific bugs until the game reach gold.

CC dev team should make a way to have lan multiplayer. it could totally work.

It would be a massive amount of work for an option that would rarely be used. What reason would you have to play the game on multiple computers? Why not just play on one computer with multiple input devices?

Might have something to do with CC nomming the resolution in half if you don't set it outside the game which not everyone knows about. Regardless, I agree it would be too much work for the result.
