That's certainly a solution. I'd like to propose that perhaps having a flag "isUnique" that won't let players buy more than one of X (where X is any Actor / HeldItem) per battle might be cooler.

It'd be awesome to have hero units and weapons that can be really powerful or special, but are dead/gone when they're destroyed.

I don't know any clean way to Lua that, sadly, otherwise I'd prototype it and make those Ronin redshirts with some randomized gear to give the Ronin a very scrappy, unique look. I'll try and think up a way to do it later; perhaps a search for the Actor, and if already present or summoned and killed (that's the hard part), delete it and give the player his / her money back.

I think he was suggesting something like the coalitions generic faceless soldier types for the bulk of the army, and some unique hero bodies you can purchase with benefits like speed and armour etc.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I'd do. Buy heroes as a unique supplement to your existing armies of fairly expendable guys, and make the expendable guys have smallish variations through some Attachments, i.e. different face + different helmet + variant color gear = lots of variety with smallish content problems.

As another thought, if it weren't for MOID limits (or if there was a an optimized version of an Attachable that didn't do any collisions but was just there for looks) then we could use head templates with add-ons, much like a lot of Flash games do :-)

I am not sure if I have no love for the Ronin, or if I love to kill them, they look like anime characters to me :sad: I absolutely hate anime, so i love to take out my anger on some Ronin.
