And now you know why there will never be a Humble Indie Value Pack.

I still believe capn'bubs will release a new version someday and since build 27 is out I hope that day is soon. I updated Crobotech for B27. Now you can play with or against them in the campaign: http://forums.datarealms.com/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=21530&p=474538#p474538EDIT: Oops. I forgot to add the stuff to the new groups in B27. Updated the file.

Yay! I am having so much fun! Thanks! Can't believe how much has changed. 1.0 is going to be what I have been hoping for since I first heard about the game.

Re: Hey guys, B27 live!
Just finished my first campaign (small game with 3-4 sites, versus 2 A.I).
The feel of the game is vastly different to skirmishes, much more tactical where you can't just suicide-attack everything (at least not at first when funds are scarce). And do you know what? I love it!
There are some minor bugs and stuff still which is to be expected (they've been discussed in detail in other threads so I wont bother repeating them here), but overall the game is playable and more importantly, fun!
I have yet to find a way to easily change presets, but I didn't look overly hard, but that was the only thing that really stood out to me.
All in all, good work, I eagerly await the 1.0 release!

Re: Hey guys, B27 live!
So guys, I just realized what Cortex Command's campaign reminds me of.
Dawn of War 1: Dark Crusade's campaign as you take over Kronus with one of the various armies is very similar in the way that bases are built and various factions take turns expanding their control of the planet. There's even a Fog of War effect on the planets until you explore them.
No wonder I feel so at home playing it, I played the hell out of that game.

Alright. The ability for allies to walk and shoot through each other makes this whole game better. Nice job.

Re: Hey guys, B27 live!
Good Gawd, did you guys notice that you can actually CLIMB ladders?
I just opened a skirmish and made a ladder to heaven and began climbing it with a Dummy. The ladder didn't get damaged and the Dummy climbed to the top.
Also, movement is overall much less sluggish. It's slower compared to a jetpack, as always, but it's much better than in previous builds.

Re: Hey guys, B27 live!
Word to the wise if you want a fun campaign; play against the browncoats. Their units are extremely resistant to damage, and as such it's very hard to bring them down without a lot of tactical maneuvering. They will kill your dudes. Sometimes, if you aren't careful, they'll kill all of the dudes that are guarding your brain and you'll lose a site to them. Which makes for a very interesting back and forth of course. I just stomped out their last site after a very tense six round game.

Re: Hey guys, B27 live!
Or, download the newly-adapted Crobotech guys and play against them.
Egads, all that heavy firepower. Even one of their basic rifles is enough to oneshot a coalition heavy.

Re: Hey guys, B27 live!
Nah, go download crobotech and set all the enemy factions to crobotech, then combat them as Coalition or Dummy. THERE is your challenge.
