How much do you think B27 will reduce lag?

The problem is that CC is a very memory- and processor-intensive game, neither of which a UMPC has very much of. Just because the game is 2D doesn't mean it's easy to run - the physics engine, not the graphics, is what uses the most power in this game. It's true that CC isn't perfectly optimized, but seriously, your computer isn't designed to run games, so it seems a bit ridiculous to expect it to work perfectly for you.
As far as graphics go, I see where you're coming from, but you can change the game's resolution really easily. I don't know if it's really worth it to play on a UMPC just for the sake of having the screen at a size that you like.

oddly, my graphic card is dying because of cortex command (hence why i've been forced to safe mode... although to be fair it mostly years of wear and tear over the years and me not keeping it clean. however i was playing CC at both times when my PC crashed and failed to load up without safemode)

even more odd. i can still play Cortex command on Safe mode but REALLY slow like 10 FPS roughly. not that arsed about the slowness that said.

Okay, but that doesn't change the fact that game simply isn't designed to run on your computer. I'm glad to hear it's working again, though.
LordVonKain, that's really weird. As far as I know, CC doesn't use hardware acceleration of any kind for its video (the Allegro library it uses doesn't support it by default). You sure it wasn't something else causing the problem?

What i think happen was my Processor overheated with my Graphic card and increased my graphic card heat and ♥♥♥♥ it up.
That my theory anyway.
or it could just be bad luck that i was playing CC when my graphic card decide to die on me.

EDIT: Ball's didn't notice my typo.

If by "eat" you mean "heat," that sounds reasonable enough.

Nope, by "next project", i mean next game project.. ie whatever we build with CVE. As for Cortex Command, After 27 we are going to be polishing everything that's already in, and adding very few new features, if any. We already spent 10 years on it, it's time to start with a new codebase so we can do these things properly from the ground up.

I'm surprised that the game has stayed in its current state for so long. It's gone really unexpanded since the very first beta downloads. I don't really think you should be basing your accomplishments on time taken. Michelangelo didn't get half way and go "Eh, good enough". The unpaid modders on these fan forums have had to get around so many features that don't work and polish up the game just to make it adequately playable.

Don't get me wrong, I *LOVE* this game, but it's really disappointing to keep going back to the dev log to see that you only post about once every month and you only come back to earth's surface to tell us about very small features that you're implementing. You posted that "A read for veteran fans of Cortex Command" and it gave me more insight into your reasons for being inactive, but the mods being released by unpayed users is staggering compared to the default content. How long has the meta game been a simple scan mission. I know you didn't want to be compared to other game developers, but I'm having a hard time using my imagination to think of what is taking up your time. It's almost as if you don't think the game is fun or worth your time to improve.

You said that you made the features extremely modular so that we could make use of custom assets with incredible ease. If this is true, why aren't new vanilla assets being introduced every week? You and your team wrote the code and we haven't seen hide or hair of any new bodies for around a year. The last time I played this game was the summer of 2010 and there have been scarcely any new features implemented. I'm sure that if you picked up your laptop for about three hours a week for 4 months, you could have already fixed the "clear path to orbit" malarkey and maybe even fixed the other glaring problems in the game. You coded this entire amazing engine and you're just letting it sit around like a car bum.

I think the problem is that you seem to be getting pretty grouchy towards your community. I didn't really mean to go off on this flame-rant thing here, but some of these things shouldn't even need to be said. I understand that the game was made for your "fun and profit", but you kind of gave up on any sort of consistency. If we were venture capitalists, we probably would have stopped endorsing you a while ago. Can you also explain to me why other indie devs shouldn't somewhat set some standards for what we should expect from the industry? I don't think it's wrong to look at the progress others are making and ask why you aren't doing the same.

Anyways, I think this game is great, but it's stagnant. It's like a television show that releases an episode every 4 months and then not even consistently. I can't demand anything from you because I have no idea what's going on in your life or where your priorities are (and also because I would have no say in what you do anyways), but I think that we would all appreciate a little more productivity on your part (especially because you keep telling us that feature implementation for us should be as easy as painting was for Bob Ross, while at the same time not adding anything to the game for extended periods of time).
