Re: Build 26
I could write a program that checked whether your version was the latest on the website, maybe...

Re: Build 26
A rolling release diff system that you could turn on or off in a config file would be awesome. "hashing base.rte: no change detected, hashing ronin.rte: changes detected, hashing 28 files (10 ini 18 bmp): 2 bmp files changed, downloading 2 files: |======| 23kB 100% DONE" so on.
Sure, with the amount lizard compulsively spams save you'd have to be careful not to auto-commit any changes, but it'd likely save all the hassle of updating content and save each major build number for engine changes or large content steps.
Time well spent, especially since you have to parse every file in the game before doing anything anyway.

Re: Build 26
Actually my compulsive CTRL+S-ing wouldn't be that bad, considering we're using an SVN.

Spider101 wrote: I want a minecraft style auto update for the next update! :3 That would be nice, as long as it was optional. What I would really like to see in an update is that "Cortex Command.exe" does not remain running as a process after it errors out due to broken or missing module resources.... I hate having to manually shut down the process every time I load the game while trying to fix module errors.

Re: Build 26
I'm not sure it's all that necessary to have an auto-updater, but perhaps a launcher, again a-la minecraft, directly linked to the SVN and Devlog would be nice.

Re: Build 26
This build is much more stable than 24. i can actually have battles long enough now where it's worth it to build up a decent base and last long enough i can repair holes and stuff and large bits of my base are blown up.
and lizardheim i hate your avatar it makes me want my official content >X(

That's roughly what I mean by an auto-updater. The current CC loading screen would be the "launcher". Oh wait does minecraft have some different launcher now? Haven't played since whenever SMP was "new"

Re: Build 26
I like what Duh said. Because I randomly ever check the Devlog, and there are many updates (at least the twitter ones) in there, so when opening Cortex Command getting linked to the Devlog would be pretty cool. And would probably make Data pay more attention to the Devlog =P
