Re: CC in 3D!?!?!?!?
The problem with your ideas is that they're all impossible fantasies. Nobody is going to build an entire 3d destructible terrain warfare engine to cater to the will of a few guys on a forum for a similar 2d version of the game. Not for free, anyways. Without some kind of incentive they have no reason to build an engine for some anonymous daydreaming figure who can't even properly communicate.
Likewise I doubt Data and co. would have any luck making their own engine.

Re: CC in 3D!?!?!?!?
Cortex Command is fine as it is. Let's face the fact that it's almost impossible that it'll become 3D some day.
And if you want to dream a little, it would be like Ace of Spades but with much more smaller voxels, much more weapons and crafts.
That's all.
Sounds cool? Yes. Will it happen? Maybe, someday. Will this thread continue? Probably Sims_Doc is going to post something grammatically correct and interesting.

BECAUSE ITS NOT LIKE THEY WOULDN'T BE ANYWAY. But no seriously you guys. C'mon. You could still play the 2D one.
So stop complaining about 'lol it wuld ruin da feelz of te game!1' because it wouldn't. It would be a different game so it doesn't have a feel to be broken. It may be based on the original, but if all sequels were just copies, who would want to play them? Can you seriously think of cortex command in a 3d world? Stop trying to form a minecraft-ish idea with this game, minecraft sucks anyway and 3d cortex command wouldn't work with the graphics and concept of the game in my opinion, they'd have to overhaul the entire in game mechanics. I rather have an entirely different game if they decided to go downhill with your mentally incapacitated idea. Excuse me if i don't have your special imagination to see from your cute viewpoint. User was warned for this post.

Ryanbob, to quote you: Miggles is equally entitled to his own opinion. This entire conversion is about how CC could be brought into the 3D world, which, once again quoting you, would necessarily involve an "overhaul" of the game's mechanics anyway. Miggles is just suggesting one way of doing so. You're adding nothing to the discussion by personally attacking him.

Re: CC in 3D!?!?!?!?
Actually, minecraft where one texture pixel = size of a voxel could work very well as a 3D version of CC. If it has crafts n guns, that is.

Like Voxelstein, for instance. Presumably the Atomontage engine would work nicely with that kind of game.

Re: CC in 3D!?!?!?!?
What I find funny is that I proposed CC3D became another game, and made a point of them being different games (CC3D and 2D) yet Ryan thinks I didn't and I want 3D to overtake 2D.
And my idea had nothing to do with Minecraft. :l

Moving along. Who wants to pick up this project? Or should it be something that remains in discussion.

Are you even capable of understanding how much work that would amount up to?

Re: CC in 3D!?!?!?!?
Lizard, I don't think he does.
It's not as simple as "Ok, let's change a couple of variables to reduce the voxel size to a pixel!". If it was that easy, CC3D would have been done already.
